Take a (virtual) tour of the 5th Ave Apple Store
If you're like me (and heavens help you if you are), you long to visit the huge Apple Store on 5th Avenue in New York City, but that pesky "geography" keeps getting in the way. I know it's not the same, but Apple has offered a small consolation in these great Quicktime VR tours. You can check out six areas of the property, all via a very cool illustration of the store. Check it out.[Via ifoAppleStore]

I just went over to New York from England last weekend, partly to see the store and its certainly worth seeing. This gives quite a good idea but clearly not up to the really thing.
Don't let geography get in your way, screw the environment and make a trip to see it :D

I went to the store a few months ago while on business in NYC. I wasn't that impressed. Yeah its cool, but at the end of the day its not that much different from the 3 Apple stores here in the Dallas area.

I live in NYC, went to the grand opening (#64), and am more impressed by the SoHo store than this one. Don't get me wrong, it's nice, very nice, but SoHo has a theater and the two floors separate things nicely.

If I am not mistaken, I do believe that there was always at least one QuickTime VR of the plaza around the store up on Apple's website.
