Rig of the Day: HDTV via a Mac mini

Another nice and tidy desk. TUAW must have the neatest readers ever. This desk is graced by a lovely Samsung HDTV, an Intel Mac mini, an Apple Remote, a few external drives, and an XBox 360 (we'll forgive that one). Watching movie trailers using this rig must be nice indeed.

Mmmm, 1366x768 is not offered by my Mac Mini on my Samsung LCD flat TV... I have to stay to 1280x768! :-P are you having 1366 width? how have you made it!

Thanks! :)

Let's face it, smartass, it's a 27" Samsung LE-27T51B. The Resolution is about 1366x768 which equals HD@720p. The HDTV Standard includes 480, 720 and 1080. So where's your fucking problem dude? You know, I'm pretty sure that we all here can read a fucking spec sheet, so your little rant up there makes less sense to me than the ending sequence of Burton's Planet of the Apes. So here's my suggestion for you, next time you'll ride the short bus to the tuaw comments, just to proof that you didn't even have a fucking point, than better sit back and get a hot cup of SHUT THE FUCK UP. There's also a Sony (DAV-DZ110) 5.1 surround sound system attached but you guys can't see it on the pic because it's under the desk.

Lets face it, this model is not a TRUE HD display. Native resolution is 1024*768. HDTV is 1920*1080. Even if the guy had a real 30inch WUXGA 2560 x 1600 lcd monitor, I'm realy dont think that the mac mini has the graphic card for it. Quote "Requires graphics card with dual-link DVI" for the G5 tower to handle the its 30 inch. Where do would you see this card in the MINI? And by the way, since when do you think Apple online trailers STREAMS are in HD H.264 1080P? It's like 400MB streaming trailers for each movie they display on the menu? Come on, for download YES but as HD streaming as seen on this picture.. NO WAY. So finally: This title was surprising for me and as I expected, it's a full of bul*sh*t RIG OF THE DAY BYE

Why are you ragging on 360? At least it's a PowerPC core:)

If I was a student today that's pretty much the rig I'd go for.

No doubt that is nice to watch movies with. But with a measly resolution of 1024x768 you can hardly consider working with it.
