Rig of the Day: A perfect setup for iTunes movies

This rig is certainly ready for iTunes Store movies (and any other kind of movies as well). Who needs an iTV when you can just hook up your Mac to a giant tv and call it a day?

Why would you choose an iTV over a direct connection?

1. You need a fast (dual-processor) machine to play back HD files.
2. Apple's DVD Player software...well it kinda sucks.
3. Using an HDTV as a monitor doesn't work well from across the room. If you need to be within 4-6 feet for decent visibility (depending on your display size), that's really not better than sitting at a desk.

At least, that's my direct experience.
