Say what you will about Rig of the Day, and I know you will, but nothing says 'Rig of the Day' to me more than a monitor mounted on a wall. It just does something for me, plus think of all the extra productiity. So, today's rig is simple, clean, and one that isn't an orgy of Apple products.

If you'd like to see your own rig featured here, simply upload photos into our group Flickr pool. Due to popular demand we have dropped the 'Rig of the Week,' but sound off in the comments if you want it back.

I've never seen a mount like that, so I guess its suppose to swing from side to side? Cool. Where can I get one of those?

Too bad the new iMacs (with the exception of the 24") are not compatible with VESA monitor arms. The older iMacs were. They had a flat back that could accomodate a VESA mount.
@John: you don't have to read the post if you don't like it. Just skip it. This isn't the "let's only post what John likes" weblog.

whoops, forgot about the html code stuff
what I meant to say ways:
we use those exact same mounts all around our offices for our monitors that are under 22", everything else gets a scissor mount or swingarm rated for at least 50lbs, but, yeah, everything looks nice wallmounted :D maybe i'll try to wallmount an old dell from the office one day to see if that makes it suck less :P

Scott, you said,
"So, today's rig is simple, clean, and one that isn't an orgy of Apple products."
But, I notice an Apple keyboard in the foreground. So, there's probably yet another "rig" just around the corner. The orgy is just off camera.

@ 10
If you actually looked into it you would find more pictures on his flickr page. The fact is that most people that have laptops have desktops also, to call two computers and one moniter "an orgy" is off base. His desk is clean and the "other" computer if there is one is tucked somewhere under the desk; this in contrast to the previous "rigs" where everything apple that could be found was crammed into one small space. Furthermore; I am using an iBook right now but it is hooked up to a display and I am tyiping on an apple keyboard. Would you consider this an "orgy"?
What do you have against Scott anyway? Every post I read it seems there are negitive comments toward the publisher. If you don't have anything nice to say don't efing say it!

Hey you sacs, we're not asking where you can get _A_ vesa mount. We're asking where you can get _THAT_ mount. Those of us that are willing to pay extra $ for an Apple display because we like the look of it are definitely not going to buy some ugly a$$ mount for it, we want one that looks as nice as that!
So... where?

You can even get mounts like that at some national-chain hardware stores. I saw them with the tv mounts at Lowes the other day. Several weights of VESA arms just like the one in the picture.

ergomart is one of our suppliers, so we use their monitor mounts, but the AM2 swingarm from newegg looks a lot like our TV mounts, however ours are all OmniMount branded.
anyways, i'm pretty sure that ergomart link is the one for the best features/aesthetics for an apple monitor or iMac
