Widget Watch: OnTour - know when your favorite iTunes artists are in town
OnTour is a Dashboard widget that scans your iTunes library and offers concert notifications when the artists you actually listen to are coming to a venue near you. The widget uses OnTour.net to collaborate all this information, and links are provided to buy tickets, as well as to the iTS in case you need to brush up on your choruses. To top things off, the OnTour.net site itself provides even more links to discographies and Google maps for directions. Nice.[via Lifehacker]

John, I was looking forward to using this great ap, but I've got the same problem as you.
I'm running a G5 iMac and 10.4.8. Anybody got a fix?

I'm seconding the blank box problem (MacPro w/ 10.4.8 & iTunes 7.01), though this is an awesome concept and a very cool website though.

It works for me on my iMac G5, but its artists don't match, undoubtedly because I store my artists as "Smith, Fred" rather than "Fred Smith." I guess not many people do that, but for the life of me I don't understand why that isn't the normal way to do it.

Got a quick response back from their tech support. But after following instructions (below), mine still doesn't work...
Thank you so much for contacting us! We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you are experiencing and want you to know we're determined to help.
One issue we've identified as a possible trigger for this error is storing music on an external hard drive. If you keep your music library on an external drive, these instructions may not solve the problem. If this the case, and the instructions below do not solve the issue please let us know. We are working for a permanent fix to that issue.
We recommend re-downloading and installing the latest version from www.ontour.net. If that does not solve the problem, please do the following:
1. Click 'Manage Widgets' on the dashboard.
2. Delete the OnTour widget.
3. Delete the OnTour cookie:
- Open the Finder
- Go to - Library - Preferences
- Delete the widget-net.ontour.widget.plist file
4. Install new widget. Download available at www.ontour.net/download.
Hope this helps! We are passionate about making sure that you never miss a concert again. Thank you for helping us discover this rare error and your willingness to comply with the steps above. Please let us know if you run into any further difficulty or have any additional questions or concerns. Have a great day!

The support team for OnTour just emailed me a file that totally fixed the problems on my G5 iMac. If anyone else is having trouble, just file a report at the ontour support site.
Very useful app! Thanks!

We have fixed the blank screen problem and posted both to our site and to the apple gallery. As for countries we cover, definitely the U.S. and Canada. We're in the process of adding the UK, Germany and Australia. More to come later. Thanks!
