QTAmateur brings a lot of the handy QuickTime Pro features to the table without having to pay the $30 upgrade. Full screen video playback (with a more streamlined, iTunes 7-like video window) and batch exporting of any format QuickTime can read and write make for a handy little app.QTAmateur is free, Universal and available from Mike Ash, a Rogue Amoeba programmer.

You should read back articles you have written so you can check them for mistakes:
"QTAmateur is free, Universal and available for free from Mike Ash, a Rogue Amoeba programmer."
You mention it is free twice here.

I believe the second reference is explanatory, meaning QTamateur is free because Mike Ash has made it so.
Get a freaking life and stop biting the hand that feeds you.

I believe you are wrong because David Chartier has amended his error with respect to this: Owned.
A freaking life? If I choose to read through all blogs that are a part of the Weblogs, Inc. Network looking for mistakes (and mistakes that may not be mistakes but I choose to call bloggers out on it anyway) and then go on to take a 3" blade and mark myself every time I find one because I feel a bit more complete every time I find on like I have a purpose in life, then you are you to judge Mr "eleongonzales"?
As for biting the hand that feeds be I would prefer that the hand be able to structures entences correctly and as a professional i'm sure that David Chartier can appreciate me pointing out his errors and offering him advice so he can avoid future errors rather then taking it as a personal attack like you seem to have done.

lol @ Daniel, Lord of all Grammar, who bites the hand that "feeds be", "structures entences" properly, and can't be bothered to capitalize "i'm."
Anyway - this seems like a cool little app. It's lame of Apple to hobble Quicktime. I shelled out for Pro just to have fullscreen, only to find out later that you can use an Applescript to enable the function. Bad Apple!

Agreed, it seems like a good app.
Daniel, Lord of all Grammar (good name), this is not the time or place. I was simply saying, there have got to be better things for you to be doing than going through TUAW blog posts for errors. If not, maybe a little introspection of your own craft is in order. Your comment while almost incomprehensible was truly revealing. You seem like a real professional yourself.
It's a blog, it's news, we're all macheads here... chill out. Or take some advice from that old book people always quote- "May he who is with out sentax error cast the first keystroke."
And I seriously hope your 12 for saying owned…

I like the idea behind the app (and the streamlined UI is nice), but I don't need yet another app that is the same thing as Quicktime except it has a fullscreen mode.
I trashed VLC because Perian gave me the same codecs, and I use an Applescript + QuickSilver trigger combo to accomplish fullscreen. There, problem solved and without the need for another video-viewing application.

I've got to say, this program is a godsend. I've been using the old version for months to batch convert tv shows for my iPod. Highly recommended.

It's nothing short of a disgrace that Apple charge money for full screen viewing. Do they prefer it if people use something else?
