I'm just going to grab this opportunity to see if anyone has the same problem as me with DNG Converter. First, some background, my camera's RAW format (Pentax *ist DL2) isnt directly supported by Mac OS X (as of 10.4.8) but the DL is, so I can hack the Raw.plist to support it in Preview, Aperture etc, but only if I convert the .PEF raw files into DNG.

SO

With the Windows DNG converter, and with the Universal Binary Mac OS X converter, the output is wrong - postage-stamp sized. BUT if i run the OS X version via Rosetta, I get correct output. Comparing the files (Mac OS X native intel vs Mac OS X PPC via Rosetta) reveals that the file output by the native run is 4 bytes longer. Truncating this 4 bytes so the files are the same size reveals that they are still not the same.

Is this just bizarre or what?!?

One could also use the free dcraw tool to convert those raw formats to 16 bits TIFF files.

To #1 and #2: I apologize for the obnoxious ads. We use ad networks to plug in the ads on the site, which means we don't hand-pick each one. We're working on tracking down the obnoxious/blinking/seizure-inducing ones and eliminating them, but please accept our apologies in the meantime.

In case the ad isn't on the rotation when you open this site, you currently have an EXTREMELY ANNOYING ad in the right-hand column.

Definitely not classy, nor apple-like. Practice what you preach.

Please, o magical bloggers, I don't care how many laptops I've won, I don't want a seizure while I'm reading your blog. I like to support web pages, so I don't use adblock, but this makes me want to.
