Unpacking a refurb MacBook
Apple Certified Refurbs are a great deal, this we know. However, what do they look like when you order one? That's the question Macsupport.ca has just answered with their unpacking pictures of a refurb MacBook. As you can see you don't get the fancy box, or the nicely shaped Styrofoam, but you do save lots of money.Plus, you won't be tempted to save the box it comes in and take up room in your house, and that has to count for something.

I got my MacBook Pro this way, and I have to say I was disappointed with the packaging. I was expecting the fancy retail boxes =[ ...The computer was good as new, though.

So i'd suggest you call apple and i'm sure they'll send you out the discs.

Nonsense. Reburf is the ghetto mod to Rebirth.
My sister bought a refurbbed MacBook from a brick-and-mortar Apple Store. It came in an original box, but the install discs were missing.
Any of you think that if she called, she could get those discs? I was surprised when we unpacked the box that there were no discs at all in there...
I own a refurb G5 iMac. I still saved the box, and it's been handy as hell as I moved from Michigan to Georgia and I opted to fly and ship my belongings down instead. The iMac made it perfectly safe.

It was worth the money I saved, though my remote wasn't working when it arrived. Apple sent me a new one that only took one day to get here (from Cali to the Canadian prairies, one day was impressive. If only that's how long the notebooks shipping time was). I was so happy with the cost/product I received, I didn't even blink when the new Duo 2s came out, even though I had been waiting for them. My only regret was not ordering sooner.
