Amazon offers free ToughSkin case with iPod purchase
Let's suppose that your significant other is on Santa's 'nice' list, and you want his/her shiny new iPod to keep glistening all through the new year; you'll probably want a case to go with it. If you like black rubber (and really, who doesn't?), but the recycled look bothers you as much as it does Laurie, perhaps the Speck ToughSkin is the case for you; it offers a good balance between glamour and SPF (scratch protection factor). We covered it last year.Amazon is promoting a deal for the ToughSkin that goes something like this: buy a 30 GB black iPod, get a free case (a $25 value). It's the perfect gift idea for the slightly klutzy music fan in your life.

ToughSkins are great cases. The rubberized external shell lets you keep a good grip on your 'Pod, even with sweaty hands, and it comes with a pretty decent belt clip too. Also it comes with a little clear plastic insert that protects the iPod's screen. And, as the original poster mentioned, it's not butt-ugly. I've dropped my ToughSkin-encased video iPod more times than I'd care to admit, and it is still in pristine condition underneath the appropriately-named ToughSkin. I believe these cases normally retail for $30 or so at Apple Stores, so a free ToughSkin with purchase of an iPod is a pretty decent deal.

From the looks of things, it looks like it wouldn't allow me to use my headphones with it as the jack isn't straight :(

I have one of these, too. It's great if you don't take the iPod out to dock it very often--and even that part isn't too annoying.
It DOES allow you to use your headphones with it.
