Take good care of your MacBook and MacBook Pro

I enjoy using my trusty MacBook, Janus, I really do. We have a good relationship, I use him and he works (most of the time). This is a relationship that I would like to last for a long time, and luckily Apple has some tips for the proper care of your portable.

Read the tips for MacBook care, and MacBook Pro care, and assure your portable is treated in the best possible way. None of this is mind blowing stuff, but it did remind me not to use a pillow to prop up my MacBook (the pillow blocks the air flow, which it would seem isn't good for delicate electronics).

You're right Paul, it is the name of a Roman god.

Janus is not a man's name.

The pillow I am currently using to prop up my macbook is the least of my worries...the MASSIVE screen flickering however is a little disconcerting. Oh and the super sensitive optical drive that won't import scratch free brand new cd's into iTunes is a little bit annoying as well.

I don't know what is worse. The time I spent reading this, or the fact that you have a name for your computer?

Straight to ludacris speed! This post will hit plaid shortly.

Well, darn - I can't use my MacBook at a nuclear facility? What's the point of having it then?

These tips don't prevent what is happening to my macbook.

- The wires for the LCD are starting to show through the white covering.
- The magnet lid closing has made a slit in the casing where the IR sensor and boot/sleep light are.
-A little staining.

I understand that these things are happening because I have been using my macbook intensively almost every day for the past 7 months, even though I carry it around in a second skin bag all the time. But why are the LCD wires showing through ? Don't like that.

Thank you for naming your MacBook after me. My name is Ianus (pronounced Janus) and I just received my MacBook today. Shall I call it Scott? or Skott.
