Last.fm for Apple Mac OS X 1.1.0

It would seem that today is the day of incremental software updates, and oh what a special day it is. Last.fm, a social music collective (their words, not mine), has updated their Mac client to 1.1.0. Details are scarce on the site as to what this update includes but the interface has been overhauled and it is a welcome change from the former interface. This app requires Tiger.

Works for me. Some functions are subscribers only though....hmmm

Yep, iScrobbler plugin all the way for me. I tried the previous version of the full-fat last.fm thingy and it just seemed horribly bloated... I only use the scrobbling function.

I also use the iScrobbler plugin to submit the music I listen to on my iPod/iTunes instead of the official client

but for listening to the "radio", the official client is good.

yea i wonder if the crash on startup is fixed lol, i tried this app once and gave up.

I also did not like how it does not let you get Artist/Album/Track from the API. I wanted to show album art on my site but had no way to get the actual album.

I got it yesterday, and while the interface and stuff has been much improved, it still randomly crashes sometimes. :

The Last.fm client is massive and takes up much more space/CPU than it should. I use iScrobbler, tiny menu icon with none of the bloat.

I used to have that problem that it would fail to launch but the way to get around it is to quit itunes and iscrobbler/the last.fm client before proceeding with the installation of your new last.fm client, I found that out in one of their forums...

I wonder if this update will address the bug that causes the Last.fm application to crash upon launch. Thanks Last.fm!

/sarcasm

I think I'll stick with Synergy for Last.fm support.
