iLamps galore at Target
Last night, I took my eldest daughter and headed over to Target to replace our dying handvac. While there, we did our usual end-cap promenade to see what items had received the red-tag blessing of clearance. I was surprised to find several dozen iLamps marked down by 75%, apparently left over from the Christmas rush. Other than the iLamps and a number of extremely ugly iPod cases, there were not a lot of iPod-related bargains to be found and the main (non-clearance) iPod section had been picked clean. Those of you who take pleasure in such things will be tickled to note that the Zune section remained in almost pristine pre-Christmas condition. If you're in need of an iLamp (and at that price, who isn't?), you may want to call ahead to check availability at your local store before you rush-on over to experience red sticker madness.

Why is it always necessary to Zune bash? I am not going to speak for all fans of Apple, but bashing the competition is sort of embarassing. Everyone knows that the iPod has outsold the Zune, and mentioning that the Zune display is in pristine condition is not necessary. Comments like that, and comments from #1 make Apple/Mac users look like babies. The Target where I live was out of alot of iPod accessories and Zune acessories also. What I have found most surprising is that Sansa accessories are impossible to find. People bash the Zune, but the Zune isn't going to kill the iPod, if something does it will be Sansa, look at Amazon top 10 MP3 Players, 4 of the top 10 are Sansa, while only 2 nanos are in the top 10. There are 5 iPods, but 2 are video, and for comparison is wouldn't be fair to compare the Videos since sandisk doesn't have an MP3 in that catagory. #4,6,7 & 10 are Sansa, and #3 and #9 are Nanos, and #2 is the shuffle. Yes, more iPods were sold, but the gap is closer this year than last.

It should be noted that the average ugly "iPod case" (and usually heavily discounted) is from XtremeMac
