Reminder: talkcast tonight at 9:30, win a copy of Awaken
Don't forget, our weekly talkcast will be kicking it Wednesday style tonight at 9:30 pm ET. We'll be introducing TUAW's newest bloggers (ooo!), welcoming special guests (aah!) and giving away a couple of delightful prizes (wow!). You need to register for a Talkshoe PIN prior to the show, so go ahead and do that now. We'll wait. Might as well download the Gizmo Project SIP client too; that way you can dial in to the show without paying SkypeOut or toll charges, or burning your cellphone minutes (you can always listen for free via the Talkshoe client, and if the stars align you can chat back with the embedded Shoephone VoIP tool). Thanks to the fine folk at Embraceware, our two trivia contest winners tonight will receive licenses for Awaken, the iTunes alarm clock tool, at the end of the show. Awaken is also up on MacZot today at a $5 discount, if you don't trust your Mac trivia mojo. Besides, if you buy a license now, you can set your alarm so you remember to join the talkcast! See how it all fits together?
Thanks Jerry & Hakim for tonight's giveaway!

I'm confused... "Might as well download the Gizmo Project SIP client too; that way you can dial in to the show without paying SkypeOut or toll charges," Doesn't Gizmo charge for Call Outs?

#1 -- Gizmo charges for calls out to conventional phone numbers, yes, but not to SIP numbers. You can connect via VoIP directly by putting in the SIP address:
123@66.212.134.192
Make sure to set DTMF tones to 'in-band' in advanced preferences and turn off automatic gain control in audio preferences.

Thanks TUAW for hosting the talkcast tonight, never done anything like it before. Welcome to Nik and the other new bloggers, and good luck to David Chartier!
It's rapidly becoming ludicrous o clock in the morning (stupid o clock came and went a while ago) so goodnight to those of you lucky enough for it to still be the night!
