Flickr Find: Apple sans-serifs signs

Will Apple's stock prices jump around at the news? Probably not. but as Morgan says, just like the missing Open Apple, it's another sign that we're moving further and further away from the "rainbow and serif Apple of yore."

This looks very nice indeed. The font is way better and I quite like the no-frills logo. :)

I just completed a logo for our non-prof using Myriad Pro for the font, and have nothing but positive comments about its simplicity. Love it!

i like the new signs. i would also like a new iPod. can't wait until wednesday [well, early thursday morning in Australia]

But the rainbow logo is making a comeback - of sorts - in Leopard. Or at least this appears to be the case judging from the leaked screen shots at Think Secret. Check the add printer dialogue at www.thinksecret.com/archives/leopard9a527/source/addprinter001.html

@Danny: I bet they pick that just because a normal grey/silver apple would get lost if it were placed in that toolbar

@Danny, @Joseph: I bet they picked that because it's a legacy technology, hence the old logo...

I like the 3D logo better. The font, eh, doesn't matter to me. The new one is kind of boring.

I don't mind to much about the font, though I like serif fonts.
But the 2D logo looks kind of dull.

to be a bigger geek, it's Apple Garamond - slightly different than normal Garmond.

The "missing open Apple"? It's never been the open Apple key, you bandwagon-jumper--it remains, as ever, the Command key. Your lack of understanding only serves as further proof that some people will never "get it." Sticking feathers up your butt does not make you a chicken, and buying a Mac doesn't make you a Mac user; you switcheurs really need to GTFO.

Well, firstly, #19 (!!), even if it wasn't called the Open Apple Key, it still frequently had an Open Apple symbol on it, so therefore there can be a "missing open apple" - the symbol, not the key, is missing.
And you are showing your own lack of understanding, and also your own lack of Apple history, by failing to know that the key was indeed called the "Open Apple Key" on Apple II+ ][e, and //c keyboards.
Oh, and "bandwagon-jumping" ? What about your use of "switcheur" ?
