The Apple crop circle
Reader Marc sent us pictures and video of his "Apple garden," which appears to be a large Apple logo on his spacious lawn in Jersey, just off the coast of France. At first I thought it was just a cutout of the grass, but his picture gallery shows that it's growing, so it must be seeded that way. Interesting. Does whoever plays (is that lacrosse?) on the field mind?
Marc also tells us the airport is nearby, and so he says it's something for travelers to look at as it goes by. He's planning to do a flyby with a paraglider, and maybe even some timelapse footage of the thing growing. Cool stuff. For some reason, I can't help but think of crop circles while looking at this, and that makes me think of Close Encounters: "This... means something."

I think it looks more like mowing patterns, or more accurately, non-mowing patterns. Like he mowed everything but the logo

I think it's just as likely to be miniature football goals than lacrosse.

Those are not lacrosse goals. They look more like mini soccer goals.

Note lacrosse - those are junior-sized soccer goal posts.

Hey, this guys ahead of his time... notice no 3D aqua in the logo! It's flat green. Insider informant folks!
Also, no sticks. No helmets. Wrong goals. + a soccer ball.
I'm thinking you don't watch wide world of sports or ESPN. Am I right?

the garden originally was a croquet lawn :) i cant stand sport myself , but my 9 year old is really in to football, so those mini goals are just for practice with his m8s ( & me occasionally ) its not ben seeded but in-fact it is a matter of just not cutting where the logo is.. my garden gets really wild if i dont cut it each week, lots of daisies / weeds etc.. so im planning to let the apple grow & time-lapse the process similar to this.. which is the way the lawn was b4 the apple.. :)
