iMac MXM Update 1.0
Attention late model 24 inch iMac owners, there is a new update waiting for you. The iMac MXM Update 1.0 which, 'improves video compatibility with Boot Camp on certain 24" iMac models.' The problem arises when you try to install Windows via Boot Camp. It would seem that the iMac stops displaying video during the Windows install. If you want more information about this problem check out this Apple tech support article.Update: Of note in the Apple KB article, under "products affected" (emphasis ours) :
- Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard
- Boot Camp
- iiMac (Late 2006 24-inch)

why would Apple release an update for iMac's that is meant to support Boot Camp, now that it is 'out of license?'

Did you mean "late *2006* model" iMac instead of "late model iMac", which I assumed meant the more recent Aluminum iMacs, to which this doesn't apply?

Now I'm even further confused. The support doc on Apple's website says "iiMac (Late 2006 24-inch)" (with two i's even, but ignore that), but your picture is of a new iMac. This is for the older white iMacs, right?

Boot Camp is part of Leopard, and if it's an iMac-only issue, it makes sense to get those Macs ready, since many of them will be upgraded tomorrow.

Yeah, the photo is way confusing. This only applies to older, late 2006 models--the ones with white plastic cases.

since Leopard has been out in New Zealand for over 12 hours it doesn't really count as 'before the OS itself is available' ;)
