MercuryMover: move windows with your keyboard
I'm a big fan of keyboard launcher utilities like Quicksilver and LaunchBar, so I was intrigued by what might be thought of as the next logical step. MercuryMover is a little Preference Pane utility that allows you to move or resize on-screen windows without using your mouse. The idea is that you hit a user definable key combo and a bezel will pop up which lets you to move or resize the active window by a set number of pixels (or to the edge of the screen). MercuryMover is $20 and a demo is available from Helium Foot Software.

I want to be able to move windows with three fingers. (similar to scrolling with two).

Hint: If you want to do this in any version of windows since 3, hit alt+space and from the menu you can move, resize, minimize, etc...
That tool really isn't worth the cost! Freeware maybe.
One interesting fact is that people using keyboard shortcuts always think that they are faster (myself included) - but the stopwatch shows that mouse commands are always faster.

Ctrl+Opt+Shift+~ to resize window.

$20!!!! This shiznit is a standard feature in windows. Seems unfair.

December 04 2007 at 8:07 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI agree about $20 being too much, and also for the previous post (Scribble). This is a cool tool... that I would use exactly 3 times. Something that would be great as freeware.

December 04 2007 at 7:01 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Reply$20 for that? Seems more like the kind of app that people will only get when it comes in a bundle with something useful.
