My first OS X was Tiger 10.4.6, which I installed on my Hackint0sh =o)

And to this day, I still use the B&W (with heavy upgrades) as my sole Mac. I used to rag on my PC friends for not being able to run two operating systems (X & OS 9) AND run Windows via Virtual PC. All in good fun though. :)
What I really miss about those days was Connectix Virtual Gamestation. What I wouldn't give for an OS X Universal Binary port of that now. Ah...good times, good times.
I wish they'd kept the packaging theme from Jaguar. Although I think the others are great, it and Panther's really stand out. I hadn't even heard of Mac's when most of these were around, my school was running Acorns and BBC Micros. Those were the days.

I have seen previous version of Mac OS's with friends Macs. Was not so impressed and sticked with XP and Ubuntu. When I saw Leopard at the iStore and then played with it, I switched.

March 25 2008 at 4:45 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI ran the beta on my G4 400 mHz tower when it first came out. I added an extra hard drive to it so I could boot from it and not screw up my HD with OS 9 on it. I upgraded that machine with a faster video card, processor and memory from Other World Computing. It's run every version of OS X except 10.5. It's still my media server at home.
My current machine is an '06 MacBook Pro running 10.5.2
I like 10.4 the best. Don't like the new flat folders in 10.5.
I started with a Mac SE running 6.0.8. It originally had a 50 MB hard disk and 1 MB of RAM. I remember I paid about $350 to upgrade it to 4 MB of RAM so I could run MS Word and Freehand.
10.4 in September 2007 *feels embarrassed*
Oh well. In about seven years I won't feel so noobish to Mac :P
