iPod Minis on sale at Woot

Remember the Mini? If you're in a retro mood today, you can pick a 4GB iPod up at sellout.woot for just $79 + $5 S/H. It's not a bad deal on an outdated iPod. In contrast, new 2GB shuffles are selling at Apple for $69 and refurbs 4GB nanos for $129 (including $15 gift cards). TUAW reader Greg writes that it's the perfect iPod for leaving in the car.

Still the best all-around pure music player Apple has ever made. I had one a few years back, but gave it away. I'm so tempted to pick up another one jut for fun, despite the fact I already have many other iPods.

Had mine for 2 years and it was used for at least 2 prior, no battery change. Most durable of all of them as well.
Installed linux on it and all the other fun tricks. It is upgradable as long as the CF card you buy is ATA compatable, but by the time you have bought an 8 or 16GB card and the Mini you could have a fat nano that will play video. Sooo its a toss up on price/value/need/hack and the such. Decent stuff tho, + I heart woot!
DO NOT BUY THE MINI!!!
There's numerous battery problems - I sent mine in and got it replaced, it worked fine for a few months and got it replaced totally again (with a new one), and again, the battery failed a few months later.
It's a good deal, but it's bulky and there's battery problems.
I still have my 4GB mini (silver) and it is still rocking pretty good with the exception of the battery life being a little lower and the headphone jack being a little worn and "slippery". Other than that, great gadget.
I would have bought a 3G nano, but I am looking for a simple and small belt clip like I have with the mini. I simply cannot find one that is not an arm band or a bulky belt clip/wallet type thing. Ugggly.
where to buy the i-pod for 69.00

I could get a iPod Classic for just about the same amount and b.) I already have an iPhone, an 8GB iPod Nano and a barely-working 30GB iPod Video, so adding a $250 mini to the lineup would be pointless. Could be fun for someone else to do, though.

I wish I could get my "leave in the car" 4g 40g to stop reverting to the stupid "no card inserted" screen. Does anyone remember what firmware version the 4g had when it was new? And how do I downgrade?
