Rumor: 10.5.4 due before July 11th
AppleInsider claims to have information on the next point update of Mac OS X Leopard (version 10.5.4). According to AppleInsider, the build number of 10.5.4 is 9E17. They also reported that the beta of 10.5.4 has "no known issues" in its latest build, and that beta testers were asked to focus on AirPort, networking with Windows, Spaces and other frequently used (and often problematic) aspects of OS X. As we reported a while back, OS X 10.5.4 should incorporate support for Apple's new MobileMe web service.

Will they finally manage to fix the custom folder view in 10.5.4 ? It's getting old and very annoying that Finder doesn't manage to show the custom view properly (i have a few folders with no sidebar and custom background)

Any word on re-adding 256 colors? They removed that in 10.5.3 and it broke Starcraft & Diablo II. I play SC pretty frequently with friends that have moved away, so I'd love to see that come back.
If you search around, there's a whole bunch of threads around in the web about it.

I'm using 10.5.3 on my MacBook and I've been playing D2 for about a week now. Works fine for me.

Where's my comment at?
As a representative of the G4 800 club, I'd love to know if there will be a point update for Tiger expected for MobileMe support. And no, I'm not complaining, I'm just interested.
Of course, I'm upgrading soon, but I will still have 2 G4 800's at work all synced up with my home mac.

Doesn't seem like much of a "rumor" as much as it does an assumption. So many of the apps pictured in the demos of mobile me reflect updates specific to the service (which launches on the 11th), it should be assumed that some type of update is coming. 10.5.4 makes perfect sense.

As long as they fix the network data corruption bug that is killing my studio I'll be happy. Seriously, in all the years I have been in this job this is the worst bug I have ever seen on an Apple OS.

If you still have the corrupt images there is a way to restore them (minus layers) see the massive thread on apples forum for details

Not if it's dead InDesign or Illustrator files we're talking about. Those are genuinely dead.

I'm sure everyone has issues that they want to see fixed in this update, so here's mine: make Leopard work properly with proxy server PAC files so that I can connect to the Internet properly again when at work. At the moment the dotmacsyncmanager process goes apeshit (presumably that process will need to be renamed for MobileMe) and iTunes crashes a lot, particularly when trying to visit the iTunes Store where it now crashes every time since 10.5.3 was introduced.
However, I suspect that this update will simply be for MobileMe and that these issues will continue to plague me for months to come. I swear that Tiger never gave this much trouble...

One of my killers of the current version is attempting to rename files in finder while it's creating thumbnails for current files.. cancelled the rename every time! So annoying!
I really should send them a bug of it..
Cheers

i can verify that it is real. I just finished downloading the delta update from a torrent site, if anyone wants ill post a link, shows up 10.5.4 in system profiler, i cant say i notice a difference in anything although ive never really had problems with leopard.
