MacGourmet Deluxe is ready to go

MacGourmet is a very nice recipe organizer for the Mac that we've written about several times. It's definitely a far cry from the home grown database I was running on my SE.

For the uninitiated, MacGourmet lets you organize your recipes and menus as you would expect. It also lets you publish of recipes online, assign ratings, pair certain dishes with favorite wines and more. Mariner calls it "iTunes for your recipes," and for good reason.

This week, Mariner released MacGourmet Deluxe 1.0. Changes include
  • The Cookbook Builder, which allows users to build, print and share their own cookbook.
  • A mealplan feature with iCal integration
  • A new shopping list editor
  • Several new award-winning recipes
MacGourmet Deluxe can be downloaded now for $44.95US, and requires Mac OS 10.4 or higher. Registered MacGourmet customers may upgrade to MacGourmet Deluxe for a reduced price.

this is exciting, and also provides an i-told-you-so aspect for me.
i was in contact with a few potential backers to design a program like this and was turned down, not a viable product :P

They are "sharing" the software. This is just macG with all the plugins instead of buying each one separately. Advenio is still developing MacG

So, I can buy MacGourmet for $25, then upgrade to Deluxe (normally $44.95) for $10 on their website, right?

"Already own MacGourmet and want to upgrade?
All registered MacGourmet customers can upgrade to MacGourmet Deluxe for only $9.95 in our eStore."

Many times, I've been tempted to put all our recipes into a database like this.

But there's something about that grease-stained index card from your grandmother in her own handwriting that's too priceless.

how strange. I have been a longtime happy customer of macgourmet and advenio doesn't bother to inform me about any new products. Sloppy marketing. thanks for the info.
