Reminder, talkcast tonight at 10 pm ET
As Cory just noted, it's the iPhone's first birthday today, and we've got a present for you: the Sunday night talkcast, hosted this week by Christina and featuring our memories and good wishes for the 1-year-old gamechanger, along with our anticipations for the launch of the App Store in two weeks. Also on tap for tonight: our Apple-themed recommendations for celebrating the 4th of July (make your Mac Classic into a barbecue grill!).
You can also catch up on the past few weeks' worth of shows (including our audience-free show last week, where Robert, Cory and I soldiered on while TalkShoe had a hiccup fit) from Talkshoe, play them from the Flash player in the continuation of this post, if you like, or pick them up on iTunes.
Read on for details on how to join in for tonight's call.
You can join the conversation on TalkShoe by using the shiny new browser-only client; you can also use the classic TalkShoe Pro Java client that we all know and love. For the web UI, just click the "TalkShoe Web" button on our profile page at 10 pm Sunday. You can also listen in on the Talkshoe page or call in on regular phone or VOIP lines: dial (724) 444-7444 and enter our talkcast ID, 45077. Note for callers who aren't connected on the web or Java clients: if you want to request a chance to talk, just press *-8 on your phone.

"iPhone 2.0 software will be available on July 11 as a free software update via iTunes® 7.7 or later for all iPhone customers."

I love your site but your podcasts suck!
I keep trying to listen to them every week but the audio is just unbearable. The content and the hosts are great. The podcasts could be really good if you only took advice from Leo Laporte (he always says the 2 most important things are audio quality first and then good content). You have the content covered (this is the hardest part) so please work on the audio so I can listen to it.

Hi Frank --
Thanks for the feedback. There was a key production step this week that we left out, which is to block the low-quality Talkshoe version of the show from being released until we can replace it with our higher-quality recording. The improved version of this week's show should be up by tomorrow AM.

Thanks for the reply.
The audio is crappy on almost all of your podcasts not just the last one.
Christina's audio is consistently bad.
Keep up the good work and tell Erica she is awesome!

Would you do me a favor and compare last week's show to the optimized recording of this week's (when it comes out)? #49 was a Skype-only show, so we can try to isolate audio problems on the Talkshoe side.
