International iPhone pricing guide
On July 11, 2008, the iPhone 3G will be launching all over the world. As the release date draws near, we have been inundated with tips from readers about international 3G launch dates and prices. In an attempt to try to keep the information organized in one place, I (stupidly, perhaps) volunteered to create a table containing the data from every country that is releasing the iPhone 3G on July 11 (plus France, which is launching on July 17). I did my best to provide the most accurate information, although some carriers have yet to release official information.
If you see any errors, please let me know -- I can update the table and the results will correct themselves immediately on this page.
Update: Thank you for all the helpful feedback! I will be out of town for the 4th of July, but will try to get information updated/corrected later today. I am also considering putting together a different chart comparing the final price at the end of contract, to determine who gets the "best" and "worst" deals respectively on the iPhone 3G.

D'oh -- you caught me. I did get a little NA-centric -- apologies, no disrespect intended!

Well, all these unlocking possibilities raise the likelihood that we will be able to get it done relatively easily anywhere without risk of bricking...

Information for Switzerland is correct, but Swisscom is stating that this is only for new customers... existing Swisscom customer must wait until 7th July to know if there is a chance to apply for an "upgrade".... ;)
Regarding the voice plan... best rates are Swiss Francs 0.50/call (for first hour then is another 0.50 per hour)
Unluckily i wasn't quick enough to reserve my iPhone 3G as a customer support employee told me that reservations are far above the available stock of iPhones for the Swiss launch of 11th July.... :( It seems i've to wait.... sigh

It should also probably be noted that the $199/$299 price is for upgrades only, and even then, only if you qualify for an upgrade or already own an iPhone. Otherwise for the rest of the tens of millions of AT&T customers who are still under contract and don't own an iPhone, the cost is $399/$499.

careful!
in Austria you pay 10euros for the first 6 month! then it is 25euros. plus to use it as iphone (with data), you have to get the additional iphone pack for another 14 euros.
total of 39 euros/month
well - could be cheaper...
