Downloaded this new update just a few days ago...since then...my apple TV is dead. It just won't start up anymore. For this reason I can't reset it, or set it to factory settings. Am I the only one with this problem?? Is there anybody out there who can help me please??....

Will even .2% of the few Apple TV users out there even figure that out? Why couldn't they just add a Radio section to either the Apple TV interface itself or at the Apple TV mgmt interface in iTunes?

Another good news (as it seems) : the new release of AppleTv seems to now support the WebRadios.
I have created a playlist with all the radios i liked, synchronized it, and .. it works (did not before).
This is a cool feature : just hitting the right arrow will switch to the next radio on your playlist.

Apple TV 2 gave us the ability to view our .Mac Web Gallery, except for albums and movies which are password protected. 2.1 gave us access to these. Before they did not show up at all. Now they are there with a lock. When you click on it, a window appears to allow entry of user name and password. Unfortunately, an error appears which says I entered it wrong, which is not true. Tried 3 times on mine and 2 times on our .Mac Groups web gallery. When I called Apple Care, they put the blame on Mobil Me. With all the problems Mobil Me continues having, I suspected the same thing. Trying to get support from Moble Me is also an issue right now.
July 18 2008 at 11:22 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThe Remote App works perfectly. I can remote control both AppleTV and iTunes. The MobileMe on AppleTV is broken. It seems to be a shell only. It never recognizes the account name and has no area for a password. It will be an answer to my needs when it works.
Missing from AppleTV: Audiobook support. Both iTunes and iPod have it. Why not AppleTV? Seems like a silly oversight. I'd appreciate listening to my Audiobooks while I relax in my family room. Best seat in the house.
MobileMe started working on AppleTV. It has a clean and simple interface just like all other Photo viewing.
Request: Allow the screen saver to choose more than one folder in MobileMe.
I luv my AppleTV.
You now can see thumbnails of all your photos and can browse through individual images using the remote. This also allows you to start a slideshow from any image in a set. If they just added an option to display the title, and possibly an option to compare images, this would be even more useful to me as a professional photographer.

has anyone had the chance to try to reapply the hacks: The patchstick/ssh/atv, usb support, smbmount???
up until now I was wedded to those "add ons" to appletv. recently i've been trying to convert my .avi files via "appletvfooler" to .mov and load them into iTunes and view them on AppleTV via streaming from iTunes. This seems to work pretty good so far.

I don't know how i can get this update. So far, i didn't see the update in my Apple TV.

Anyway, I will be using the Artists entry mostly from now on, I have been wanting albums to be organized by artist for ever, but now that the artists menu is filtered, that's almost as good.
So far, I've had to manually check for updates for my Apple TV. I though it was supposed to be automatic.
Anyone have any idea how often the Apple TV checks for updates automatically?
With the previous update, I waited probably over a week. This time I just did a manual update as soon as I found out there was an update available.
I am in Canada.
