Are you affected by MobileMe mail outage?

What's up with MobileMe email? In recent days we've been hearing from a lot of very unhappy MobileMe subscribers. They're unhappy because their email accounts have been inaccessible.

David told us: "Some MobileMe mail users have been without mail access for four days straight now."

At the time of writing, the MobileMe status report says: "1% of MobileMe members cannot access MobileMe Mail. We apologize for any inconvenience."

But TUAW reader Drew told us: "Just got off the phone with AppleCare and they tell me MobileMe email is going to be down for 2-3 days, and that it's the whole system, not just the 1% as noted on the support site. Those of us that use .me as a work address are hosed. Normally I wouldn't care but I have 2 photoshoots to coordinate Sunday. Is it me, or does this feel like a M$ launch?"

Well, readers, you tell us. How has MobileMe mail been for you over the weekend?

Thanks to everyone who contacted us about this issue.

More of the same here. MobileMess is just not working. In fact, the only thing that's worse is the way Apple is ignoring the affected customers. Any complaints on the MobileMess discussion pages are summarily deleted, and the poster is told to use Apple's feedback page (link provided) –only there is no feedback allowed for MobileMess. Apple's customer service people actually have the cojones to say that even cannot speak with the MobileMess department. They swear they have no telephone or email communications, and that they have to use the chat link that is provided for customers...

In the meantime, the light is green on the status page, but my email has gone crazy and won't sync between my computer and iPhone. And Apple does a brilliant impression of Sgt. Schultz on Hogan's Heroes... "I know nooooooooothing!"

Apple mobile me email. When I log into my account on a "foreign" computer I get up the email and then go to put in the email addresses "they are just not there", THE ADDRESS BOOK AT THE TOP OF THE EMAIL I AM SENDING, is greyed out. If I am on my own PC I can get the addresses from my address book. When will mobileme work properly

Mail service stopped Tuesday evening. I waited 25 minutes Wednesday for a phone support tech, and he couldn't help me. I've been a .Mac member for three years.

My problem was very different. I had a few thousand contacts in my iPhone and after the new update was loaded and it went to sync (which was always manual before) it asked to sync and I agreed not realizing that Apple's version of sync is to remove everything from the iPhone and put up the address book (which mainly had emails and no phone numbers.)

Not only that, it removed the names of favorites and recents and only has numbers.

My list of contacts is email only.

Anyone know how to undo this? Are those iPhone contacts lost forever? Why does "Apple Sync" mean removing the iPhone contact list instead of incorporating them?

Mobile me is a disaster!!! after investing much time in setting it up and rechecking all the settings I still can not get it to push e-mails or calendar entries to my outlook. I have tried to send calander entries from outlook directly to mobile me from my non synced office computer via e-mail as I can with google calendar but again nothing happens.
And the biggest insult is how difficult it is to find a contact e-mail or phone to call. I don't want to spend a day with a Genius who will tell me to bring in my desk top.
Thanks for finally getting me try apple.

Phew. Mail is back. I finally decided to look at it as if a water main broke in a neighborhood where I've lived comfortably for years -- well, it happens. It's not fun, but I'm not going to move out -- just move into a hotel until it's fixed. I set up a gmail account for that. But now I've got this deluge of mail that's been stacking up at some server or other for a week, to sort through... I guess that's like mopping up the floor in the old house. Frustrating, yeah. But... we'll get over it.

I am new to mac I have been telling everyone how good apple was last month.

But now no one can email me at all at my @mac.com address that I used as my main email account.

No support or help from apple or mobileme at all.

Have we all lost @mac.com forever?
