iPod touch 2.1 firmware available now

If you own an iPod touch, you are now able to update to the new 2.1 firmware that Apple announced today. The 2.1 update includes several new features including the new Genius playlist feature.

The update is free to all current iPod touch owners who have already purchased the 2.0 update. If you haven't purchased the 2.0 update, you will have to pay $9.95US for the 2.1 update. You can download it now via iTunes (note that you need either version 7.7.1 or v8 to install the new firmware).

Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

problem resolved. My Bose headset cord was not properly/fully plugged in and this caused the music and voice sound problem.

I installed 2.1 on my iPod hoping I could use my Nike+ kit but no go, this pisses me off cause I paid for the kit for my Nano (My daughter lost it) and when I saw it on the keynote I said to myself, there is no reason Apple should not support it on my iPod now but they aren't. Still get the same this device not supported message on my iPod Touch 16GB.
