Mac 101: Search Wikipedia from your desktop

To start searching Wikipedia, just open Dictionary (located in /Applications). Next, click on the Wikipedia button and enter a search term. Leopard will then browse Wikipedia for the answer.
You can access the dictionary from most applications by highlighting a word, right-clicking and selecting "Look Up in Dictionary."

Why not do it like firefox and allow using different search engines (including wikipedia) in the Safari search box?

Don't forget that you can easily enhance Dictionary.App through plugins.
Just take a look at my english to german (or german to english...) translation plugin:

I find the Web Searches Module of Quicksilver to be the most time-efficient manner to grab some wikipedia info - or any number of sources.

If only Apple made this app for the iPhone.
Anyone else notice the iPhone has no built-in Dictionary/Thesaurus?
You have to buy a Dictionary for the iPhone from a third party for $30.00!
And don't tell me to go to a website or google to define words, the iPhone needs a simple and elegant Dictionary/Thesaurus app built-in from Apple like OS X has.

Totally cool. Never knew about the "right-click on any word" feature!

I've always wondered if it was possible to add more online dictionaries. Wikipedia is a special dictionary file - as it is the only one that goes online to fetch information. I tried to modify it - with some success, but I was unable to get it to truly work.
Am I the only one who wants to download a Wiktionary or language translation online dictionry?
