Clips updated to 1.1

Plus, they've just released Clips 1.1, with a bevy of new features -- Abbreviations are now live (they'll expand as you type them, like Text Expander), you can use hot corners to invoke the program, video URLs are now supported (along with Amazon and IMDb URLs), and you can rename clips through a contextual menu (that last one might sound boring, but have you tried it yet?). The application is $34.99 (though hurry to get that price -- it may go up on October 1st), and there's a 15-day free trial.
And hey, if you don't want to buy it quite yet, just wait a bit -- Conceited has given TUAW a few giveaway copies to pass on to you readers, so stay tuned for your chance to pick it up right here.

Clips: turning Leopard into Vista!?
Clips seems good at first. There is potential and i would like to like clips and use it in my workflow. It could almost be there. The sad thing is: clips turns my mac into a windows-like experience. That's bad news.
Here is the problem: Every time I start up my machine, I get a message requesting ClipsHelper for a connection. I have my firewall set for allowing all incoming connections for Clips and ClipsHelper. Clips is the only software that causes this problem. Somebody asked this in their forums a few weeks ago and there is no answer.
I feel like I am in that "I am a PC" add with the cop constantly interrupting "cancel or allow?".
I also had problems with the trial and later activation. That seems to be OK now.
The last thing I copied to the clipboard was the URL from the Google Reader RSS feed to take me here to enter the drawing...
Wish me luck!

Why should i need to ACTIVATE a trial? Even Photoshop allows me to try it without activation!

I currently use Butler's pasteboard & can use it with the keyboard without touching the mouse. Can also paste as plain text, not sure if this is possible with Clips?
Some things aren't obvious & there's no help documentation. Some features ought to be universal (e.g. you can flag, get info, delete, rearrange clips etc. from the Clips Board but not from the Clips Panel.
With some more work though I think this could be a killer app.
