I sent an email at 6:30pm central and got a license.

What a scam. I sent in my email at 5:39pm CST, and I go the same

"Thank you for requesting a free Snak license. We appreciate the interest, but unfortunately the Obama Celebration Giveaway is over. It was a great success with close to 1500 free licenses handed out."

message at 5:50 am today. Now that they have my email address, they are going to spam me like crazy.

I'm calling Snak a Skam. At least Codeweavers had the decency to go from midnight to midnight. My email of denial is even dated 11/05/08 11:09pm almost an hour before midnight. Jerks!

Yeah, FAIL. Shame, I was looking forward to something that doesn't crash all the time and silently lose connections like Colloquy does. Way to go, Mr Snak - now I'm looking into Linkinus.

Fail. I'm a bit pissed, too. Chronology:

Saw the TUAW post at 850PM. I figured, a freebie, nice!

So I sent off an email requesting a free license. Local time sent: 9:00:29 PM CST.

Local time 10:09:25 PM CST: I got an same email from Snak, same text that david amodt posted above.

It seems like a bit of a cheat to end it before the day is done. And the promotion WAS still up on their page when I originally sent off the email.

Well, unless it is because the author of Snak is based out in Germany? *shrug* I dug around a bit, but didn't see anything.

Actually, I'm guessing he had a set limit of licenses (1500) and he didn't want to give out anymore. Well, then why not just say THAT?

SNAK FAIL... why offer it and have it not available? Think you'd take down the offer once concluded...
