The cat's out of the bag for iWork '09
Take a stroll on over to Apple's downloads page and peek at the 5th entry under Top Downloads. What you will find is an entry for iWork '09 -- which has yet to be announced. We currently don't have any information available as to what changes would be present if iWork or iLife were updated. However, you can bet that if the Philnote features any dazzling effects not previously seen, they are likely a part of the updated suite.
Given that Apple is so secretive this seems like quite the slip up. While not featured in our rumor roundup, we would not be at all surprised for an update to both the iWork and iLife suites to be announced. If you have any hot features you'd love to see in an updated iWork or iLife suite throw them down in the comments.
Thanks Nick for sending this in!

Well, if iLife and iWork are announced. Why shouldn't there be some cool Snow Leopard demos?

few things i'd like for ilife:
multiple audio/video track mixing in imovie
multiple monitor mixes in garageband
96khz in addition to the 24 bit in garageband

I have been waiting to see iWeb with iPhone templates and facilities for web fonts. Is it here?

So do Apple rig the top downloads, or have a whole ton of people been downloading it and just not telling anyone?

My guess is that iWork '09 is just using iWork '08's numbers.

We could do with some decent OpenType support in Pages. Since leopard, hardly any of the OT features work.

Why in the world would you ever place an order on something the very day of an apple keynote? That is probably the absolute worst possible time that you could have picked. Not to mention you obviously knew about tuaw.com meaning you knew that macworld was today, also meaning you knew new products would be announced today.
I vote you win biggest apple fail of the day award.

well not really... i just got a macbook, theres no way they'll introduce new ones... not interested in the pro line also so why not... its just that new software didnt cross my mind at all... :/ it would suck if it had 08 on it... but it wouldnt be a big deal i guess.

Just had a look, and it says "08" not "09" on the top downloads...

Uhm, my browser says its iWork 08, and links to the 30 day trial for said product... typo perhaps?

You've been duped... It's iWork '08 on my screen... also if you notice, the "9" in '09 extends lower than the whole title. Shopped.

Clear your browsers cache to see it. It just says it in the download list. When you click the link it brings you to iWork 08'

How is it that it has managed to be in the "Top Downloads" section and not be released? Also, iLife as a DOWNLOAD option?! Yes please!

I'm looking forward to a Keynote update as I use it quite often. If you watch the keynotes from the past year, you can see the changes that are being made - Steve always seems to give us a teaser when it comes to new transitions, effects, etc.

Looks like global search and replace caught one of the site editors out.
