iPhone 3.0 beta 2 is available to developers
There's also good and bad news with this release. The good is that MMS and tethering are supported in beta 2. The bad news is that Apple asks developers not use them. It's like owning a Ferrari without wheels.
If you're a developer, you know how to get this. Let us know how it goes, and have fun.

I spent like 3 hours downgrading with instructions on Gizmodo. I will not be installing this again prior to the summer release.

Download of the 3.0 beta 2 SDK has slowed a trickle. Sigh.

Seems a lot better than Beta 1, I'm loving it so far!

Okay, I am on a Dev team... but I JUST heard about this, and I'm not sure....
If I upgrade/restore to the 3.0 beta 2, do I HAVE to use the NEW SDK? Or can I still use the SDK 3.0 first release?
(I won't be developing any in-app purchase items...)
Will it affect anything?

It's like owning a Ferrari and being told by Ferrari not to drive it because they said so.

Possibly because the Ferrari could fail mechanically at any time while driving if you're not careful. Would you drive such a car?

And it could also make every mile of roadway catch fire and/or explode below you and everyone else. Gee I like these car analogies.

How do you tether with the new beta?

I believe the Apple-approved answer to that would be "you don't". But, if you were to hypothetically want to discover where this new feature lies, it is under the network settings

Does the A2DP in this 2nd beta firmware work?
I've been told it did not work in the first release...

A2DP works for me, but it stutters occasionally when the phone is doing other things.

AD2P worked for me in the first beta on my iPod Touch, except sometimes the audio would come out of sync with video

The iPhone 3.0 Beta 2 has its ups and downs... like the title of this article.. apps are loading much more quicker than with the previous beta. Also i find that skype is working much better now. With the beta 2. The mic works perfectly and there's no need of wifi - it works just great with the 3g network. Also MMS are not working. With the the Beta1 they were working just fine. After updating I am unable to Send/Receive MMS also tethering isnt working either for me. So few things were lost there. I wish everything would've remained the same just apps loading faster and being more compatible and typing issues. If you do not mind the bugs on the Beta1 i would recomend you to stay there. At least you will be able to use the MMS and Tethering.
Ps: I do not see Push Notification working with the mail app at all.

Skype does work much better. It even kinda-sorta-almost works on Edge. As in, you can hear the person you call loud and clear without much delay, but your own voice is pretty low. But hey, it's Edge, anything is better than nothing.

In this new firmware, I found a new Store setting in the settings app. Its strange because there is no icon, and in the settings pane, there are no settings. It simply reads "Store", and thats all thats in there...

It links to a blank/non-existent PreferencesBundle on the iPhone.
Weird.

The latest build no longer recognizes Audiobooks at all. they are on the device in iTunes, but the iPod says "No Audiobooks"
