BoinxTV unlocked in MacHeist 3 -- next up, Espresso and The Hit List
UPDATE: Just as we suspected, the $500,000 blew past and now everything is unlocked.
The Boinx TV unlock apparently opened the floodgates, because MacHeist 3 has raised another US$25,000 for charity since the US$400,000 level was reached. The new goal is a cool US$500,000 raised for charity, and when that happens, Espresso and The Hit List will be unlocked. This has to happen in the next two days, since this is a limited-time offer.
Since we last talked about MacHeist 3, Cro-Mag Rally and the Times newsreader have been added as bonus apps. You also get Delicious Library 2 and Multiwinia if you tweet about your purchase (which caused Macworld editor Peter Cohen to firmly state the case against Twitter as a spam medium), as well as several other applications that have been slipped into the mix since the bundle started.

This sure is cutting it close... I'm not so confident it can happen in just 2 days. It's taken all this time to get to $400k, and they've still got a long way to go before $500k.

I have a sneaky suspicion that the counter on the macheist page is no where near real time. The longer it takes to get to the different levels, the more we all tell our friends to buy it because we need it to get there.
Of course, this is genius and part of the reason it is so successful each time.
Anyone agree with this theory?

The counter is javascript for updates when viewing the page, but I gather the server counterpart could be "cheating" as well...

And boom! How they jumped from $485K raised in charities to $636K overnight its beyond me, but I basically said this... buying the bundle in the 1st few weeks is a risk... now all apps are unlocked and its safe to say its a great bargain... And yeah the counter is innacurate, it doesnt collate to any real-time DB against transactions... sniff the server and you will see... ]:-)

So if you want espresso that bad, why not just buy it? If it's worth waiting for someone else to unlock it for you, it's probably worth spending the money on it directly.
