Tweetie 1.2, now with love for video
The new version includes several new features and bug fixes surrounding URL-shortening (tinyarro.ws now supported), 32-bit stability, and improved Growl notification support. Other new features include three-finger "back" swiping on supported trackpads, drag-and-drop video support, as well as the ability to record and tweet videos from your iSight using ImageShack's yfrog image hosting service.
Our own Michael Rose was so excited about the update that he promptly downloaded the new version. Take a look at this excellent (and very brief) video he posted using Tweetie 1.2 for Mac. After (or before) you check out Mike's shirt of the day, head on over to atebits and grab the latest version of Tweetie. Also, be sure to tweet some videos and mention @TUAW and @atebits so we can take a peek -- but don't let the ease of posting videos steal your soul.

Yet I STILL cannot connect through my work's proxy connection. I wish the developer would get that fixed already. That is the location I use the Mac Tweetie at throughout the day!

Maybe your company doesn't want you to be on twitter?

LOL. My company doesn't want us to be on anything but MAYBE Goole, and that's on a good day.

Still no groups. This means for me it's still not usable. I love the design, and everything else about the application, but I need groups. Until the Tweetie developers revise their position on groups, I'll stick with an app that does not look as good as Tweetie, does not "feel" as good as Tweetie, but does support groups.

Also missing is the ability to un-favorite a tweet from within the app...

The hideous (sorry) blue highlights have gone as well, with a gorgeously subtle white fade in its place... mmmmmmm...

I really liked the blue high lights. I've been trying to put them back. Anyone know how?

I'm glad those highlights are gone. After updating the last time, the first thing I did was reply back about how to get rid of those ugly highlights. The white fade is more subtle and aesthetically appealing.

What is the point of a highlight in the first place?
At first, I thought the highlight was the "last viewed tweet", so I could scroll up and see what was new... but then I noticed it seemed to randomly select different tweets (did I click on them at some point), IDK...

I would really like it if they didn't set a max-width on the window. Their reasoning is basically "we like it like that" so everyone else gets to deal with it. I know this because I have e-mailed them about it and that's pretty much what they told me. Since when is "we think this is better" a UI guideline?

It broke the "Preview short URLs" for me
