WWDC Demo: iTreadmill
iTreadmill (App Store link) is a pedometer app for your iPhone or iPod touch. I spoke with the developer, who demoed the app for us at WWDC. It looks nice, appears to perform well, and features a respectable number of ways to customize and tune the readings. Pedometer apps may not save the world, but if you're looking for something much less expensive than the Nike+iPod device, this will do in a pinch. There's also a Lite version (App Store link) if you want to try it yourself.

I hope this doesn't sound to "stoopid", but I'm curious if all the drives are failing, or just specific ones. I've been running a 1Tb model ST31000333AS Serial-ATA in my G5 PPC, since it came out without any issues. I'm also running a 500Gb which is over 4-5 years old and still running fine. Both are internal in my G5, neither are used for TM, but I do have Super Duper cloning the 1Tb to the 500Gb on a weekly basis as a backup. Any suggestions?

Wrong place to ask!

Has anyone noticed a lac of desktop-app coverage on TUAW lately? Apple is still very much a computer company. Times and times again, the Mac users, not the iPhone or iPod users, are Apple's most loyal customers. A count over the 7 most recent entries show that 6 are iPhone-related. The seventh is split evenly between Mac and iPhone development. The last time I heard saw anything on TUAW that was related to the Mac was the hardware releases at WWDC. Right, it's WWDC and you can't find a Mac software worth mentioning?
I have an iPhone and I love it. But please, TUAW, can you remind me that Apple is still making a lovely computer that I use everyday?

Yeah, we know. Post-WWDC and post-3GS launch there happens to be a lot of iPhone news.
Don't worry, we'll soon resume our regular scheduling. Look for some Mac app demos tomorrow -- like Quickeys.
