It's good for a chuckle -- if the blistering 1mb of RAM doesn't get you, the iPhone preorder or the "BASIC" on the menubar probably will. But wait; what's all of this about Apple Retail Locations? We've never heard of an "Apple Store," and actually won't until Steve takes a bunch of investors to the first location in 2001. We know all about Apple Authorized Resellers, though. Maybe that's what you meant?

Of course, we didn't have Flash, or web designers, or shiny browsers with big graphics, or the actual connections to load those graphics...

Anyone else notice the mashup between Leopard Safari 4 and the brushed Metal of Tiger?

A blast from the past, and an interesting history lesson. I've shared this with my elementary aged children who are fascinated by this 'grandpa' of their iMac. Thanks for the link.

There was even some moron still bitching about Apple's "one button mouse". I guess he hasn't realized that, for over 3 years, Apple's mouse has been able to right-click. I guess he just hasn't bothered to look at System Preferences. He probably still has the default background on his display too.
July 21 2009 at 8:06 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI don't really want to defend such morons, but Apple should start enabling "advanced" mouse features (such as the "secondary click", or two-finger tap on trackpads) by default. Otherwise all those newbies/inexperienced users/people who are afraid their computer will eat them will never know they're there without external help.
July 21 2009 at 9:44 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replyi don't think they need advanced features. they just need to man/woman up and figure it out on their own. i moved to a mac a year ago, primarily because PCs bored the living hell out of me. i knew what i was doing for the most part since i had used them before, but i learned more and more as i went along, and nothing was overly frustrating or debilitating about it.
