This is exactly the kind of thing we love to see here at TUAW (and
thanks for sending it along, Danny) -- Glyph of
the Twisted project got a job offer from Apple last week, and over on his blog, he posts
a set of unboxing pics.
Which might sound silly (an unboxing for a new hire packet?), but when you're talking about Apple, it's worth it. It turns out they put nearly as much thought into the design of their paperwork as they do into the rest of their projects. From the iconic folder to the way it's organized, designed, and laid out, getting a job offer from Apple isn't just super exciting, it's apparently a thing of beauty.
To tell the truth, we half expected him to turn the folder over and see the words "Designed by Apple in California." Good luck to Glyph with his job, and it warms our hearts here as Apple fans at TUAW to see that something the company never expected to be shown to the public was assembled with such care and thought.

I worked at Apple for 5 years, 98 to 03. Awesome time, seeing the iMacs and iPods being released.
Great place to work!
(I just got burnt out doing tech support and moved on)

Pretty slick. I think our company could take a cue from this. My only concern is that with Apple's penchant for secrecy the next mailing isn't a ipinkslip.

if you read more closely it wasn't a job offer it was the new hire paperwork. which probably doesn't contain anything that secret. Employee address form, tax papers, required forms to prove you can work in the US blah blah. perhaps some information about various trade secret laws (which anyone could google), more blah blah.
the real goods likely come after you start training.that is the stuff they don't want getting out. and the stuff that they make you sign on pain of pain not to tell

"To tell the truth, we half expected him to turn the folder over and see the words "Designed by Apple in California.""
How can you half expect something?

Good god people, it was a Family Guy joke.
When Peter buys the boat from the police auction and becomes a fisherman? And another family moves into his house? And Lois and Meg go on Spring Break?
Anyone?

"Anyone?"
Nope, just you

If he did accept the job, posting these documents on the internet are grounds for immediate dismissal.
Apple NDAs all employee documents.

You are absolutely right I only recently left the company and we were not even supposed to blog or make comments on anything concerning the forbidden fruit.
I hope not but he may be ifired already when and if they find this.

Apple is a great place to work if you are not in Austin, TX or Elk Grove, CA. Did it say Made in China under "Designed by Apple in California"?

My job offer at the apple store didn't come in a fancy package...but all the font was like it is on all the apple products. It was nice for a retail job, and so was the offer itself (money-wise)!

I hate you, I hate you, I hate you. They rejected me. ME! Rejected! After all I've done for them. Uh, well, I have been a fanboi since 2001 and trashed that Redmond company ever since. Does that count for nothing? Oh. OK.

I was thinking of applying for a job at Apple, to which I was reminded by friends who work at the Apple Store that reminded me of some of the restrictions, one of which being unable to develop games and applications for the App Store for profit, as it would obviously be a conflict of interest.
I'd probably take the job if it paid well enough (and if my wife would let us move to the west coast), that it unless I make a million bucks with the next viral app or game on the App Store.

This is excellent. I just hope his offer still stands after posting these...

I thought that showing the job hire docs online if you had the job would be a dumb thing to do but if you didn't take the job then not a problem.
Ack154 must live in some parallel universe were the word 'half expected' does not exist, I know why I don't bother to read many Apple comments as unfortunately there seems to be far too many 'OCD types'' commenting on miniscule things completely 'off kilter' with regard to the article (ack154 look that up 'off kilter').
Finally you know things are bad in TUAW comments when it gets spammed by the Chinese selling counterfeit products lol

It was a joke that obviously flew so far over your head, you're now trying to explain your version of what I was trying to say. Which ironically appears to make you one of those "OCD types."
Douchebag. Look that up.

My offer for a Mac Genius gig came in the mail like that... but if you are thinking about working at an Apple retail store they pay DICK.
I was making $38/k and was told that it was on the high end... I left and instantly got a 80% increase in pay working for an advertising agency doing Mac support.
And let's be honest, it's retail... it's working typically IN THE MALL. You couldn't pay me enough to go back to that hell.

What a fantastically stupid way to lose your job before you've even started. There is a good reason why people don't post things like this on their blogs.

it's quite obvious that many of the commentors havent even bothered to go to the guys blog and you'd have seen that he's been given the ok also what does he reveal absolutely nothing. To be honest it's not news worthy but it's all the ppl who haven't looked at his blog but chip in with their 2 cents worth of rubbish.
