Update: As noted by our commenters and
cross-confirmed with OS News, the 10.6.2 update
appears to drop support for the hackintosh-centric Atom processor. This was
spotted in earlier builds, but it was not clear whether the support for the netbook CPU would be
in or out in the final configuration.
We've been expecting Mac OS X 10.6.2 for a while now, especially since Apple initially said that the new
Magic Mouse would require it, but it has
just arrived.
Alongside the OS update for Snow Leopard users, Security Update 2009-006 is out for users of Leopard. Use Software Update to make sure that you get the right update for your computer.
Bug fixes are reported for AFP Client, Adaptive Firewall, Apache (2), Apache Portable Runtime, ATS, Certificate Assistant, CoreGraphics, CoreMedia (2), CUPS, Dictionary, DirectoryService, Disk Images, Dovecot, Event Monitor, fetchmail, file, FTP Server, Help Viewer, ImageIO, International Components for Unicode, IOKit, IPSec, Kernel, Launch Services, libsecurity, libxml, Login Window, OpenLDAP (2), OpenSSH, PHP, QuickDraw Manager, QuickLook, QuickTime (4), FreeRADIUS, Screen Sharing, Spotlight, and Subversion.
No word on any new features or enhancements yet. Stay tuned.
Here's the update list from Apple via Software Update:

Any word if this fixes the Mac Mini video (quicktime, front row) problems?

Looks like it's fixed that issue--had that problem on
my Mini using 10.6.1 but just tested Front Row and it finally is working.

500MB is the Combo update which can go straight from 10.6 to 10.6.2... also useful if you're updating multiple machines
Trevor said 8:51PM on 11-09-2009
Not a combo update. Downloaded directly through software update for my Late 2008 Unibody Macbook Pro. 10.6.1->10.6.2

Do you have any third-party extensions installed for Mail?

thank you Apple. Another OS update without any fixes for USB Audio issues on Unibody MBPs. Its been a YEAR!!! Way to treat your pro-audio users....

Real Pro Audio users would be using FireWire, not USB.

@cowfodder: thanks for your insight. I use whatever suits me best, not something you think i should be using.
In addition to that I have something uses hooked up to the FireWire port.

Even before upgrading to 10.6.2 I have been having issues with my mouse (both the mighty mouse and my logitech laser mouse). When I start up my Mac or log in from a restart there is a delay where I can't click anything. I can only move the mouse pointer. After about a minute it goes away and all of the clicks I made show up delayed on the screen. I had my logitech charger/receiver connected to my monitor USB hub, but thought that might be the problem so I switched it over to one of the USB ports on my Mac Pro. I still have the same problem. And as I stated already this is not an issue with the logitech mouse but with the apple mouse as well.
Is this just me or is this a known issue? It really irritates me!
Is this some apple ploy to get me to buy a Magic Mouse?

I thought I was going nuts. I have been experiencing this with my Microsoft wireless mouse. I will click, and get nothing. So I'll click again, and then sometimes again and it will finally show up on the screen. I haven't installed 10.6.2, but hopefully this will fix my issue. I tried changing the battery, unplugging, etc with no luck.

I know what you mean with the mouse problem...it was driving me crazy. After the 10.6.2 update installed and rebooted I still had the problem. That is until I restarted my mac mini and zapped the P-Ram 2 or 3 times....since then my logitech optical mouse has been a happy camper...hope this helps.

What I want to know is: are those new MBP's still hinted at in the OS data files? Apple is being too cute by half when dismissing the rumors. It's not, "no new products by year's end" - no, that would be too definitive. Now it's "the holiday lineup is set." Well, does that mean Apple isn't counting new MBPs as part of the holiday lineup?
Worst part is, I was this close to buying my first Mac, and then the rumors hit. First the iMac and new MB, and then the data mining revelations. Now I'm forcing myself to wait until they release the new MBPs, whenever that is. This month, or next spring; doesn't matter, I'm waiting.

"Well, does that mean Apple isn't counting new MBPs as part of the holiday lineup?" If you consider a MBP to be a typical Christmas present I want to join your family!
