Found footage: History of Apple in 2 minutes
Here's a great video assembled by applemctom that presents the history of Apple (more or less) in two minutes. There are some huge leaps in time and some obvious errors (Apple Mac II? MacIntosh?), but that's OK. It isn't easy to cram decades of history into 120 seconds.
There's much nostalgia for old-timers like me, as the Pippin and Newton make an appearance. Though I still use my Newt, I've never had the pleasure of a face-to-face meeting with a Pippin. The dark days described in the video (the early 90's after Steve left) is exactly when I started using Macs in earnest. It's amazing that I stayed a customer after bloodying my hands on a 7100's beastly innards.
The video ends with the introduction of the iPhone, so don't expect to see anything beyond that. Still, it's a bit of fun. Check it out.

I didn't watch it, but I can only assume that the video is just about the company failing up until ~2005

Anyone else notice the "Mac II" error at 8 seconds in....?

That video is filled with errors, but it was a nice effort regardless.

No, I'm pretty sure it was a really crappy effort.

The 7100 was a beast. But by the time we got rid of ours, I could get in and out without cutting myself. I used to tell folks that if they could work on a 7100, they could work on any Mac.

FAIL, the company did not rename itself to Apple Inc. from Apple Computer Inc. in 2001. That was fairly recent, around like 2007. It's so riddled with errors, you'd think that a blogger from TUAW made that video...

What is that supposed to mean?

Is this a 60 year-old man's student Final Cut Pro project?

Terribly inaccurate, video alone. The original iPod (G1) looked exactly like the current gen iPod Classic? And it played video? The Late '08/09 MacBook Pro looks strikingly similar to the '06 version according to this video. The logo didn't change in 2001, it changed in '98.

terrible, truly terrible video - it's basically just a list of (inaccurate) product names and release years read aloud as the video bears no connection to what the old man is saying
but we shouldn't be too hard on him - it's probably his last project as he sounds like he is about to die soon anyway

Wrong, the Unibody Macbook Pro was not introduced in 2006. Late 2008...

This video is terrible in every way possible. They left out some of the most important and groundbreaking Apple products (like the QuickTake), yet they mentioned the Mac Mini? And other than the Intel transition and a terrible new name (I still haven't gotten over that decision), there was nothing special about the 2006 MacBook, yet they didn't even mention the PowerBook G4, which set several standards that the rest of the laptop world took years to catch up with. And I can't figure out where he got some of the dates from. The Newton (which was in no way "mediocre") came out in 1993, not 1989, and it sounded like he said Apple was founded in 1979. Not to mention the fact that it is apparently narrated by the host of "Germany's Most Disturbing Home Videos." Frankly I'm surprised the guy didn't use the term "lab top" at any point in this video...

Good idea, HORRIBLE execution. Starting with a picture of an Apple ][ and calling it a Mac ][ (wrong) and saying it had a GUI (it didn't) is a really, really bad start. After seeing the "MacIntosh" (which Dave also caught) I skipped partway through to see if it got any better and I landed on the "PowerMac G3, 1994" bit (wrong, it was 1997) and decided I couldn't possibly endure two whole minutes of this. I mean, for God's sake, ALL your research can be found in ONE handy infographic!

Horribly inaccurate indeed.
And for what it's worth, judging his accent, that horrible voice in the video is produced by a Dutch person.
I recognise someone speaking 'dunglish' and I should know since I'm from the Netherlands as well. Kinda ashamed to admit this but hey, the truth should be told!

That was my reaction as well, this guy has to be dutch, most dutch sound like that and there were some obvious mistakes that only a dutch person would make. And yeah, when he started blabbing about things that were completely wrong, I just couldn't stand it anymore and stopped watching. Nice idea, horrible execution

Yeah, it doesn't work anymore, but if these comments are any indication, there's good reason for it being down.
