The Apple Store is down (Update: back up, no changes)

Apple's online store is currently down. We're not aware of any upcoming product launches, but the store going down in the middle of the week does usually mean it's not simple overnight maintenance. We'll keep our eye on the situation and let you know if anything new shows up when the store returns.
Update: The store is back up, but there are no obvious changes. If you see anything we missed, let us know in the comments.

MacBook is now $899 on education store (was $949)

The real difference between them besides the .14 processor speed difference was the projected battery life (7 hrs vs 10 hrs).

I think that what they might be doing however is just maintenance even though this isn't a typical thing to do during the week. However, they could be preparing for the inevitable back to school events. Who knows?
