Most .Mac users received a big surprise this week as their username@me.com addresses suddenly started forwarding to their username@mac.com address. We can safely bet that MobileMe will be released in the very near future. Here's to hoping it's a little more stable than .Mac.


Apple Notebook Shipments Skyrocket 61%
We can only guess that this is due to recent Mac sightings in movies.

iPhone vs. the world
Christina tries to tackle the fan boy question that we've had since June 2007: when will the iPhone prevail as the best smart phone in the market? Apparently the phone wars will begin when the iPhone 3G is released.


Rumor: Intel preparing 3.2 GHz quad-core processors
Rumors are surfacing that Intel could be prepping quad-core 3.2 Ghz processors. These processors could definitely make a machine, like the MacPro, become even more of a screamer. While these are still rumors, it would be nice to see these fast processors come to new Macs.


AT&T to limit iPhone 3G speeds to 1.4 Mbps?
MacRumors discovered this week that the iPhone 3G might be limited to a 1.4 Mbps 3G connection. This is slower than the much touted Motorola Q smart phone which runs almost tripple that speed.


Get your Firefox on: Firefox Download Day
Our favorite little multi-platform browser, Firefox turned 3.0 this week. This new version brought about many changes, specifically for the Mac platform. Two very important changes: stability and speed. Oh yeah, they also tried to set a world record for most downloads in a 24-hour period.


Parallels Server for Mac available now
Parallels Server for Mac started shipping this week. This new product allows Xserves to run (in a virtual machine) many different server operating systems including: Mac OS server, your favorite flavor of Linux server and Windows server.



Survey: 91% of Japanese don't want an iPhone
Before the iPhone 3G was announced, a survey was conducted in Japan. Almost 91% of those surveyed said that they would not buy the iPhone.

iPhone 2.0 firmware will ship in early July, touch users pay $9.95
Apple announced this week that the next version of the iPhone/iPod touch firmware should ship sometime in early July. Apple also announced many new features that make the iPhone 2.0 firmware something that we are all looking forward to.


MobileMe announced
The long awaited rumors came true and MobileMe was announced. MobileMe will replace the ever aging .Mac service. MobileMe looks to be an exciting new web service that we can expect later this month (or possibly early next month).


iPhone 3G announced
Seems like we were all waiting for Apple to revamp the iPhone into a 3G phone, but what surprised us was the lack of a new front design for the iPhone (however, the back did change to black or white plastic). Apple later posted an ad showing off the newly released phone.


iPhone versus iPod touch pricing: Say what?
Erica tried to tackle a question that was raised this week: with the 8GB iPod touch $100 more than the 8GB iPhone 3G, will iPod touch sales suffer?


iPhone SDK beta 7 is live
Soon after the iPhone Dev Center re-emerged after the WWDC keynote, developer's were blessed with a new version of the iPhone SDK.
