For Mac owners who are timid about disk utilities, Disk Drill offers an unthreatening and helpful step-by-step entry into the software.
There's a short tutorial available to explain how Disk Drill watches every file and how to have the most success when recovering files.
Disk Drill Pro allows you to do two things: protect your drive through monitoring and the Recovery Vault, and to recover your lost files.
As you can see here, the Macintosh HD partition is in the process of being set up with Recovery Vault (the green icon). Lion, a secondary partition, is not protected at this time (yellow icon).
The same window is used to recover files that have been lost.
Recovering a file is as simple as doing a quick or deep scan to find the file, checking a box next to the name, and then clicking a recovery button.
You can get detailed info on any drive or partition.
All of the S.M.A.R.T. attributes of a drive can be viewed. As you can see, the detail is quite amazing.
