The red areas designate parts of this photo that are overexposed when compared to a limit I've set, while blue areas are underexposed. This is useful for determining if you need to retake a photograph.
Note that you can view your photographs in a 1:1 ratio, which is great for determining how well you focused the camera prior to shooting the picture.
