Jul 8th 2008 4:15AM No worries Justin, I won't be buying any software from you regardless, given the fact that you can't read.

Jul 7th 2008 9:13PM Also, you are an idiot for assuming I have anything to do with that scummy bunch of fucks that think all software should be free.

Just shows how much fanboyism affects everything around us, even people on the side that is right.

Jul 7th 2008 9:10PM An app is not a service. Ads for services, up front payment for apps. Thanks.

Jul 7th 2008 9:09PM Relax. I pay for software, I never said it should all be free.

What I said was that I do not intend to pay for access to a free website. Not $10 anyway. Maybe $5. Maybe not.

I like how you assume I'm a pirate. Such a nice person you are.

Jul 7th 2008 7:55PM So it doesn't come with the ethernet bridge and optical drive as standard after all.

Jul 7th 2008 6:58PM Never heard of twitterrific? That one charges $15 to get rid of the ads. Personally I think putting ads onto someone's phone or desktop is deplorable at best. Reminds me of Microsoft's Windows Live Messenger. Yeurgh.

Jul 7th 2008 6:37PM 10 bucks for a flickr browser? Methinks not.

Google iPhlickr, I mean, sure it has no 'Near me' functionality but, I wonder if I'm that bothered.

Apple sends iPhone 3G FAQ to retail employees: play dumb over activation {Engadget Mobile}

Jun 30th 2008 9:06AM I give it until a week after the iTunes app store launches before you feel sorry for jumping ship.

I personally can't see the point of that resolution on a 2.8 inch screen.

Apple sends iPhone 3G FAQ to retail employees: play dumb over activation {Engadget Mobile}

Jun 30th 2008 8:18AM It'd be useful if when relating stories such as this that refer only to the US market, you'd include 'US' in the title.

Apple makes the same iPhone the world over, but there is no reporting here on any memos they have or haven't sent to UK retail employees, eh?

So when I read 'Apple sends iPhone 3G FAQ to retail employees', my immediate assumption is that it's a global thing. Its only when someone finally mentions AT&T that I realise it isn't.

Jun 30th 2008 8:11AM Kyle says he is American. Ah well, maybe the same transformation is happening in the US. Whoooo knows. Or maybe Kyle is just a bigot. Shrug.

Jun 30th 2008 8:10AM Here in the UK 'gay' is a perfectly acceptable slang term for something being a bit rubbish, like saying 'that's crap' or 'that sucks'.

I have gay friends who use the word like that. It's perfectly harmless, not some massive attack on homosexuality.

I believe there have been studies done on the word. It's just standard word development. 'Gay', where I come from, now means 'rubbish'. I assume that Kyle is a brit too.

Much like you americans use 'bugger', a word meaning sodomy, as 'critter' or 'bastard'. And 'bastard', a word meaning a child born out of wedlock, to mean 'bad person'. Or douche, or cocksucker, or ass, or.. well, you get the picture huh? What's wrong with douches, cocksuckers and asses?

Political correctness is gay.

Are iPhone app devs getting a raw deal? {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Jun 29th 2008 6:07AM So, "it isn't a big deal" then, is what you're trying to say. Funny, I could have sworn I'd heard that before.

TUAW, as ever, us trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill. Seeing as they prettymuch quoted me as a source in the article, I think I'm within my rights to comment here trying to prove I'm not as sensationalist.

I'd equally have displayed my views on the matter accurately the first time round if I'd have said "$250? Stingy gits. Ah well."

Jun 28th 2008 11:13AM Critical to my survival? Whoever said anything about critical to my survival?

I seem to recall saying "I could just do with the money."

Which is true.

Do you live in the UK? Are you a student? If not, then fuck right off. Cost of living is expensive over here, and every student I know is in debt just paying for rent and food. And that's with a job.

If I'm making, and 'selling' an app on the app store, it'd be nice to have a steady drip of $50 a month. Especially given that's a standard rate.

AND as I bloody said, "It's been overstated". You get that, moron? I'm saying it isn't a big deal.

Learn to read.

Are iPhone app devs getting a raw deal? {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Jun 28th 2008 9:28AM As the guy who is quoted as making the complaint, I must state that I think it's been overstated. For a tiny tiny dev (such as me) doing it in my spare time and trying to sustain myself as a student in an expensive UK economy, it's just a pain in the arse to have to wait for the total to hit $360 in sales before I can make a claim. Not so much of a pain in the arse that I won't develop. I could just, you know, do with that money.

I hope (maybe even expect) that my app will sell thousands. Tens of thousands. I'm banking on being able to sell my one little useful app for a dollar to a substantial enough percentage of the iPhone user base to make a living, or at least some money on the side.

I don't expect my sales to top out at 360. I could just do with the money. You know, for food and bus fares.

And a massive great FUCK YOU to everyone who has suggested that only big companies make good apps.
