¿Te vas a comprar un iPhone 3G? {Engadget Spanish}

Safari better than Firefox {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Nov 27th 2006 10:28PM Is there a browser for the Mac platform that actually does drop down menus correctly.

I'm new to OSX and am surprised at some of these little details that upset me.

Zune to get Super Bowl XLI commercial? {Engadget}

Jul 12th 2006 10:19PM Wow Engadget I don't know what to say to this specially since the Super Bowl is... 8 MONTHS AWAY!

They should've advertised during the World Cup for that matter!

Microsoft approaches iPod accessory makers for Zune {Engadget}

Jul 12th 2006 8:49PM What makes me laugh is that the only way the Zune triumphs it will be by amalgamating the features the iPod offers through accessories.

Microsoft approaches iPod accessory makers for Zune {Engadget}

Jul 12th 2006 8:46PM Sxcop,

I am surprised that people don't read their dictionary (including the Engadget folks who admitted their amazement of Apple's choice of name: iPod).

The third meaning or Pod is:

A casing or housing forming part of a vehicle, as:

A streamlined external housing that encloses engines, machine guns, or fuel.

Aerospace. A detachable compartment on a spacecraft for carrying personnel or instrumentation.

Something resembling a pod, as in compactness.

Microsoft's media player dubbed Zune {Engadget}

Jul 12th 2006 1:00AM 3rdsun,

What the heck does a made up noun like Zune have to do with a 3 dimensional figure portraying the wi-fi connectivity of the device?

At Best Buy the defective Xbox 360 consoles was 2%~5%, which differs with other merchants. Such defective numbers are unacceptable for a video game console. It has as you may have heard been one of the most defective consoles ever.

The next-gen iPod will put everything to rest. Apple's interactive click-wheel patent will prevent people like MS from getting near them.

Apple already has their feet cemented with a billion tracks with drm that will tether them to the iPod. Even if Microsoft does let new adopters download the songs you purchased at iTunes for free on Urge, all the music VIDEOS and shows you already bought will be missing. This is the possible strategy that can make Microsoft a strong competitor. And MS will need to pay up big time. For what? Is the profit margin of less than 25% worth it? Of course not. It's just hype.

If MS is willing to take a huge loss, for the sake of monopolizing, then I think the anti-iPod people like most of you, are rooting for the greater evil.

Microsoft's media player dubbed Zune {Engadget}

Jul 11th 2006 8:34PM Actually the logo seems as intricate and redundant --just like the whole Windows platform.

Actually Apple did know music right from the beggining. They chose the right format (AAC or Mpeg4), and unlike Sony, Apple has always had a great UI which has been so important to their success.

Also, I highly doubt that transferring music files, for obvious legal reasons. Whatever features this MicroBrick may have is already being added to the next-gen iPod.

It is too late in the game for Zune to replace the iPod's established popularity. It will be just another alternative to people that are willing to sacrifice ease of use for features the mainstream market doesn't need.

I would be a relly concerned Apple stockholder, if they gave up on the iPhone. That, people, will be Apple's killing touch in the portable market. They just need to find the right carrier, if they are to prevent a huge failure like Helio.

Apple will not be beaten by a company with such unrealiable chip suppliers that have yielded a 2% defective rate of the XBOX 360 (a stat a Best Buy manager confirmed).

Wii's mystery flap exposed. Not so mysterious. {Engadget}

Jun 27th 2006 1:08AM Actually, "fils" is French for "son".

Tower Records debuts digital download service {Engadget}

Jun 26th 2006 8:44PM The iPod, phenomenom, unlike the Walkman is capitalizing on a proprietary content source, built-in to the UI. I think iTunes needs to address the AAC bitrate quality issue.

However, I think the very essence of Tower's success is the nostalgic holding on by its customer base, who still see in CDs and vinyls, the true source for quality music.

I don't think the conversion to digital music is going to be fast, given the fallible nature of the computers which archive it. We're really in a point in which we're beginning to scrutinize the real value of all the impulsive buys of singles on iTunes, that I still think Cds have 5-10 more years of life left.

Robots on guard duty at World Cup {Engadget}

Jun 22nd 2006 7:54PM There is nothing left to protect, the US team has been eliminated thanks to biased referees.

Looks like the local authorities got their work cut out for them.

Moore: 360 controls a Wii bit complicated {Joystiq Xbox}

Jun 20th 2006 1:47AM Of course they were gonna run into problems. Count how many action buttons are on the Wiimote.

Looks like this console is gonna require extra investment in controllers to accomodate all past, present and future gen games.

Now, how the heck am I gonna play FIFA 07 on this darn thing?

Chileans get their 360 on {Joystiq Xbox}

Jun 20th 2006 1:40AM All I can say about PDZ is that the one player campaign has an arcade feel to it.

The storyline is not poignant or plausible, and some of the elements are farfetched. It did however showcase the Xbox360's graphics quite well.

If you like games where you can immerse into the interactive-movie experience, this game has little to satisfy. For all the fps guys out there that fancy pointless shootin' then this game is awesome.

I would say that the game wasn't mindblowing or engaging as, let's say... Metal Gear. Not that we expected it to.

T-Mobile Sidekick 3 hands-on! {Engadget Mobile}

Jun 20th 2006 1:13AM Eh, the plastic looks cheap. They should've made it in polar white.

Robot shortstop in development at Arizona State {Engadget}

Jun 12th 2006 8:57PM At least we'll know one person -- or thing -- that ISN'T on steroids...

Want to drag a file to another folder and copy it instead of moving it? Press the Option key when you drag that file and it'll be duplicated rather than moved entirely.
