Some Mac websites might say, 'Macworld 2007? That's old news, grandpa!' Not TUAW, though, because we are devoted to getting as many videos that feature yours truly onto the internet as possible. After some production delays we can finally share with you our brief chat with the guys behind ETCHamac, whom we have covered here at TUAW a few times before.

One of the coolest places at Macworld this year was the ADC Developer Pavilion. Lots of small developers showing off their wares to the masses is always a good time if you ask me, but I'm crazy for third party developers. Apple has just posted audio interviews with 9 of those very developers, along with a photo gallery of the pavilion.
This is great, to be sure, but at the risk of sounding like an ingrate, these 9 interviews would have been great as a podcast (or a podcast series). That being said, the interviews are well worth a listen.
Wow - you overwhelmingly asked for it, and here it is. I was blown away by the response to the 'TUAW edit' of my Guy Kawasaki interview, so the extended remix is ready for download. This one clocks in at over 55 minutes, so it should satisfy the fans of Guy in the crowd. It was an honor to speak with Mr. Kawasaki, and as you'll discover, we touched on so many more topics throughout the rest of the interview. We covered being a venture capitalist, Guy's surprising humility, what a car from Apple would be like, whether Guy bought a Wii, how he gets his blogging on and so much more. I was admittedly speechless at times around Guy, and I'm glad Laurie Duncan, who graciously came along to handle the recording aspects, was there to help me keep from stumbling. You'll hear her pitch some great questions to Guy a few times throughout the interview.
There is, however, one catch even with this extended cut: we wound up chatting with Guy for so long that the recording equipment we used ran out of juice just before we wrapped up. Don't worry - you have virtually all the juicy stuff we talked about, but I just wanted to give a heads up on the use of the canned conclusion.
At long last, my Macworld interview with Guy Kawasaki, for which you told us what to ask, is ready to go. Sitting down in the same room with The Guy™ during the week of Macworld 07 was quite the experience, and we had a good time chatting about the iPhone, where Apple is going as a company and more.
There's a catch with this podcast, however. Since many TUAW readers have expressed their interest in shorter podcasts, I chopped our interview down to just over 16 minutes. This means I have roughly an hour or so of chatting with Guy which I think is still interesting stuff. So, we decided to put a vote to you readers: after listening to what I put together here, do you want to hear the rest of the interview with Guy? We kept on chatting about the rest of the industry, why no one's buying software, evangelism and its place in business today... the guy really knows his stuff. During my interview with Jeremy Horwitz, Editor of iLounge, I asked him what headphones he would recommend to replace the Apple supplied earbuds that come with an iPod. Without missing a beat he said the Er6is from Etymoic Research. I had to find out what made these headphones so good, so I headed over to the Etymotic booth on the showfloor and managed to get some time to talk with Mead Killion, Etymotic's President and founder. This man knows his sounds, and he knows how to make an awesome headphone.

Tiffany from LaCie was nice enough to show off a variety of LaCie's goods for us. LaCie, as we all know, makes hard drives but they also are now entering the accessories market. They have a cool new product called the LaCie FireWire Speakers, which are bus-powered speakers which also send the audio signal over FireWire. One cable is all you need.

It goes without question that Steve Jobs can teach a few things to anyone who needs help with their presentation skills. Watching his on-stage performance can offer a wealth of ideas and tips for the keynote-impaired, but now, so can viewing his notes. AtariST, aka a co-founder of Spymac.com, has posted twoimages he managed to snap of Steve's on-stage notes, offering a glimpse into why the big J is able to delivery so much shock and awe during his keynotes.
How that book is produced is anyone's guess, though one commenter at Spymac mentioned it could be the work of iPhoto. Has anyone else seen something like this made from iPhoto's book printing service?
TidBITS is perhaps the grand-daddy of electronic Mac publications (their motto should be: we were the Mac-web before the Mac-web was even invented). Anyway, they have published a lot of great articles over the years and their wrap up of MWSF '07 is no different. There are links to a variety of interesting things you may have missed in the flurry of coverage, and this superlative article (i.e. the best/worst/most whatever at Macworld) manages to sum up the Macworld experience nicely for those of us who couldn't make it to San Francisco. Enjoy.
One of the joys of attending Macworld is that you get to meet smaller vendors. Companies that you may never have heard of are showing off their wares, and in some cases they are pretty cool. mStation is one of those cases. Marc from mStation gives us an overview of the company and two of their products, the mStation 2.1 Stereo Tower and the mStation HTS (which isn't even on their website yet, though it will be available in March).

Virtualization is the new black in the Mac market these days. I got a chance to talk with Pat who is the product manager of VMware for the Mac (aka Fusion). VMware is the granddaddy of virtualization, and a 'big deal' in that space. Pat gives us an overview of what VMware is trying to do with Fusion and a glimpse at their software philosophy.

We're on a roll: In this edition of TUAW's Mac Moment series, I sit down with Adam Goldstein, the young author of AppleScript the Missing Manual. "But Dan," you ask, puzzled, "what's so special about this particular author?" Just watch the video to find out: he started his book, working for David Pogue, at age 15. He's also an MIT student, a writer for MacDevCenter, and a killer poker player. He even schools me in my own interview (worth a watch just for that). Click here for the direct mp4 version.
While we whipped out our own photo galleries feature last week for Macworld 07, Panoramas.dk specializes in putting together QuickTime VRs of major events and places. TUAW reader Christian Chladek just tipped us off to Panoramas.dk's new Macworld 07 gallery, containing over 15 full-screen VRs of various booths from the likes of Canon, Microsoft, Crumpler (their booth really was pretty unique) and - of course - the iPhone in its awe-inspiring rotating glass case. The VRs look pretty nice and are one more way to 'be there' without being there. We just wouldn't recommend trying to lick the iPhone display.

I got a chance to speak with Jackie from Griffin Technology about the Evolve and the Amplifi. Both iPod speaker systems sound impressive, though the Evolve is a little more exciting. On Friday of last week at Macworld 07, Brent Simmons (of NewsGator/ NetNewsWire/ MarsEdit fame) and Paul Kafasis (of Rogue Amoeba/Audio Hijack/Airfoil fame) were kind enough to unite their powers and sit down with me for an interview. For just over 20 minutes we discussed Macworld, the iPhone, the state of Mac OS X, being a developer, whether competition or web services are slowing them down and a whole lot more. The interview turned out great, but the audio needed a little cleanup. My XtremeMac MicroMemo usually does a good recording job with my iPod, but we did the interview in the large press room hall at Macworld so it picked up some background noise. It sounds pretty good now (thanks Mike!), and it should be a good listen for anyone interested in a perspective on the state of Apple and their products from two influential 3rd party developers.
