Welcome back, my friends, to the show that never ends!

Today on TUAW TV Live we'll be talking about Macworld Expo 2010, the OWLE bubo, camera apps for the iPhone, and any other topics that happen to hit host Steve Sande's fancy.

Some of the camera apps that we'll be discussing include Lo-Mob, ColorSplash, CinemaFX, FocalLab, and Project365. All of these apps are in your friendly neighborhood App Store and should only make a slight dent in your wallet.

TUAW TV Live: more on the aftermath of Macworld Expo at 5 PM ET

It's Wednesday, which means that we'll have an episode of TUAW TV Live streaming your way later today. This is our first live video since Macworld Expo, where TUAW bloggers of all shapes, sizes, and abilities took to the airwaves to give you the scoop on every topic imaginable.

We'll be back at 5 PM ET (2 PM PT) with an hour full of fun discussion. We'll have a demo of the OWLE Bubo that was mocked by TUAW commenters, yet praised and photographed repeatedly by showgoers at Macworld Expo. I'll also demonstrate and discuss a growing toolbox of iPhone photography apps that I've been using over the last few months for my 2010 Project 365. There's always time for questions and discussion in the chat room, and we look forward to hearing what you have to say about this year's Macworld event.

See you at 5 PM ET, here at TUAW.com!

TUAW TV Live: the pre-Macworld, post-iPad edition

Welcome back for another edition of TUAW TV Live with your host Steve Sande.

We'll be starting at about 5:00 PM ET today with a special guest, Aaron Vronko, service manager for Rapid Repair in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Aaron provided TUAW with some insights into possible iPad hardware options a few weeks ago. Now we're following up the discussion with Aaron, and you get to listen in on the conversation. We'll also send some of your questions along to Aaron to get his opinions and answers.

Since this is the last TUAW TV Live before Macworld Expo next week, I'll also talk about what our plans are for the show, and where you can find us. To watch the live show and join in on the chat, click the "Read more" link below.

TUAW TV Live at 5 PM ET with a special guest (no, it's not an iPad)

About three weeks ago, I had the opportunity to chat with Aaron Vronko, the service manager at RapidRepair in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The topic? What we thought would be the technical underpinnings of an Apple tablet. That chat turned into a post with a lot of prognosticating about the hardware that would make up the device.

Now that the curtain has been pulled back and we know a lot more about the Apple iPad, Aaron will be joining me this afternoon to talk about what we know about the actual iPad hardware. You can join us and ask Aaron your questions through the Ustream chat tool when we get together for another TUAW TV Live.

The fun starts just a little before 5 PM ET here at TUAW. See you then!

It's Wednesday, time for another TUAW TV Live broadcast at 5 PM ET

Not only is it Wednesday, but it's just one week -- seven short days -- until Apple announces something. We don't know what the announcement is all about, but we know where and when it will happen.

So, while we bounce off the walls in fanboy anticipation, you can burn off some of that excess energy by joining your host Steve Sande for what is becoming a Wednesday tradition: TUAW TV Live.

It's free, it's fun, and it's live! All you need to do is come back here to TUAW at about 5 PM ET (2 PM PT) and there will be a special post with information about watching or participating in the show. We use Ustream to do our live broadcast, and you can watch existing episodes of the show at http://ustream.tv/TUAW/.

Some of today's scheduled topics:
  • When an app shouldn't be an app
  • Original Mac marketing videos
  • A quick app review or two
  • Michael Grothaus' second article on what you want in iPhone OS 4.0
  • Upcoming announcements on Monday (financial) and Wednesday
And of course, any topic you bring up in the live chat is fair game as well. See you this afternoon!

Join us this afternoon at 5 PM ET for TUAW TV Live

It's Wednesday, which can mean only one thing -- it's time for another hour of fun with TUAW TV Live!

Our midweek adventure into everything about Apple starts at 5 PM ET (2 PM PT) here at TUAW. To join in on the fun, just come on back to the site a couple of minutes before the start of the show. We'll have a post available with a Ustream viewer screen and a chat tool. At 5 PM, the show goes live, and you can use the chat tool to comment, ask questions, and otherwise just join in on the fun.

If you haven't watched TUAW TV Live yet, this is your chance. Today's discussion will include an iPhone accessory you can stand on, rumors about the next generation iPhone's features and release date, joy in app developer land, and a subwoofer for your MacBook. Of course, it will also include any topics viewers are interested in pursuing.

See you at 5 PM ET!

Take Control of iWeb '09 with exclusive TUAW discount

With the introduction of iWeb '09, Apple pumped up the volume on its entry-level website authoring tool, making it more functional and flexible for novice users while adding enough power -- multi-site publishing options, FTP upload to unlock users from MobileMe, more capable RSS/podcasting tools and widgets, and links to social media sites like Facebook -- to merit a second look alongside midrange/prosumer apps like Sandvox, RapidWeaver, Flux & Freeway. Since the app is included in iLife '09 and bundled with every new Mac, it's likely to be the authoring app of first resort for many Mac users.

If you want to get the most out of your iWeb '09 site, we're proud to say there's one guy who has your back: our own Steve Sande, who has revised his Take Control of iWeb ebook for the latest iLife version. The $10US digital title (also sold in printed form for $23.99) reviews all the new features, covers advanced tricks and techniques, and walks the reader through the creation of a sample site (online here). Steve did a great interview about the book on Chuck Joiner's MacVoices podcast last week.

In the interest of sharing the iWeb love (and thanks to Tonya & Adam Engst at TidBITS Publishing), we've got an exclusive discount on Steve's ebook just for TUAW readers. Follow this referral link to place your order (be sure to click the big orange "Buy eBook" button) and you'll get a 30% discount off the ebook; it's normally $10US, but for you? $7. 143 pages + an appendix worth of iWeb goodness -- enjoy!

If you just can't get enough of books from current and former TUAW team members, you can check out Steve's guide to making the most of your classic iPod, Scott McNulty's WordPress book, or multiple titles on iPhone development and maximizing your iPhone/iPod touch from Erica Sadun.

Howdy!

Steve Sande, new TUAW bloggerHowdy, TUAW-ites. My name is Steve Sande and I'm the new kid on the block here at TUAW. Saying that I'm the new kid is a bit misleading, since I'm over the half-century mark in the age column.

I've been writing online since 1986, when I started up a Mac/Apple IIGS Bulletin Board System called MAGIC. That BBS continued for 8 years until 1994, when I began publishing a blog-like website called PDAntic.com on the web, writing about the Apple Newton MessagePad. That site went through various incarnations, ending with the latest - MovableBeast.com. I also blog and podcast occasionally on TalkingWordpress.com, and I can be heard on the MacJury podcasts as a regular jury member.

My first Mac purchase was in December of 1984; a Mac 512K with an ImageWriter II printer. My latest? A MacBook Air! My next dream machine is going to be a 3.06 GHz 24" iMac with 4GB of RAM and a 1 TB HD. I'm not sure how many Macs I've owned since 1984...

So, what do I do when I'm not blogging? I'm currently an ACN (Apple Consultant Network) member, which means I'm a certified Apple consultant. I write documentation for several commercial Mac applications, I've written a couple of ebooks for Take Control Books, and I teach Business Analysis classes all over the country.

I'm thrilled to be part of the TUAW team, and I look forward to your comments and story tips.
