iPod socks: useful or useless? The debate rages on.
We’ve kept you up to date with cutting edge developments on Apple’s latest release: the iPod socks. This week we bring you the news that fully one-third of Macworld UK readers consider the socks “Stupid.” As one reader rants:
“They are without doubt the worse thing Apple has ever come up with. They look cheap and tacky. They look like tea cosies. The opposite of what I expect from Apple.”
However, almost half of those polled got a chuckle out of Apple’s “nice seasonal joke,” while one-quarter consider
getting a tea cosie for their iPod the “perfect Christmas present.”
That’s right, folks, it’s all the news that’s fit to print here at TUAW, and a good
smattering of news that isn’t. Care for a tea cosie?

Personally, I'd use them. I don't need to talk my ipod out exept to turn it off because I have soooo many different playlists. P.S. I wouldn't mind having an actual pair of socks with the apple logo.

This is one of the few companies I would actually support by wearing a logo. So the official lunchtime poll shows that the iPod socks may be a potentially huge hit with Thai women, and with people who are not boring old farts. Anybody else actually thinking of buying some? Or any Thai women or boring old farts who feel they've been misrepresented? And for those who bought or will buy - is it a gag for the novelty, or will you actually use the things for their intended purpose? Inquiring minds want to know! :)

They should be real socks that sell at the Apple stores and retailers. Everybody would buy some for their favorite Mac geek for the holidays.

Almost every woman in Thailand with a mobile phone has a little cartoony sock that she slips it in before poping it into her purse. Keeps it from getting scratched.
