More mini: iPod revision goes into production
As reported earlier, Apple has been planning an
update to its iPod mini line. The revision will increase capacity by 25% over the current 4GB storage limit. The
mini revision is now in production in Asia, with Seagate
as the supplier of a bevy of 1” 5GB microdrives.
TUAW reader Oliver was underwhelmed by the news:
“1GB more!! You must be kidding. With the smallest iPod at 20GB it’s about time the mini got an update to 8GB, not 5.”
What do you think about a smidge more mini? Big deal or big yawn?

I bought a mini because I don't need 20 GB of storage. I get by fine with 4 GB, so 5 GB seems like a nice improvement. A little extra breathing room.
