iPod socks: the gift that won&#8217;t stop giving

At least one of you reported getting the iPod socks as a gift. Elsewhere, folks are still debating whether or not the socks are brilliant, humble and humorous marketing, designed to further personify this season’s hottest, human-friendly gadget. Regardless, they are likely the most colorful and most publicized tea cosie of 2004.

So what’s coming down the pipe in 2005? PowerBook cardigans? Airport Express kilts? iBook skivvies? Lay your bets, fashionistas!

Apple has extended its "Add more life to your Mac" promotion which offers a US$50 mail-in rebate with the purchase Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther) and iLife '04 until January 10, 2005. January 10 is also the first day of MWSF 05. The promo was originially scheduled to end September 25, 2004, but the extension suggests that a new version of the iLife suite is going to be announced at MWSF 05. So i'll get iLife '05.
