Altoids iPod external battery

Altoids iPod battery

I thought it was cool that I could carry my camera in an Altoids tin, but this beats all. Chris DiClerico has cooked up an external iPod battery in the ever-loving breath-freshener box. It uses three nine-volt batteries and provides up to ten hours of play time. Hey Chris, where can I get one?!

remember if you've got USB instead of firewire you only need to use 5 volts - you could use a single 9v battery through a 5v regulator or just risk it with 4 1.5v batteries.

This battery pack uses two 9 volt batteries and two 1.5 volt batteries to achieve 12 volts through series-parallel wiring- NOT three 9 volt batteries as it says above. Three 9 volt batteries could make 27 volts and probably fry your Ipod!

YES IT DOES WORK! They even proved it on "The Screen Savers" on g4 tech TV. I tried to build one and IT WORKED! It does have a relitivly short charge though

I saw this a few months ago. I cannot remember where though. IT IS BOGUS! DON'T TRY IT, IT WILL NOT WORK. I remember after seeing it that someone debunked it a day or two later. Really, if you do decide to try this look into the matter first. I wish I could remember where I saw this the first time and the debunking of it but it was months ago.

I hope so! Paging Chris DiClero... should be only a matter of time until he Google searches himself and finds this thread, right?? :)
